Great weekend away with my family. 11 of us and plenty of space in this beautiful property with lovely grounds. Loved using the hot tub, sauna, log burners and bbq. Brilliant having 3 fridges and two dishwashers, everything you could need in the kitchen. Plenty of seating and very comfortable beds. Hosts very responsive and helpful. Thank you

This was such a wonderful place to stay. Secluded and tranquil, perfect for a weekend with some friends out of the city. The house itself was very well equipped, we cooked for ourselves every day and always found what we needed. Check in was super easy and there were so many lovely touches including towelled bath robes for the sauna and jacuzzi (which were firm favourites from the weekend!). Similarly, if you wanted to go for a walk there’s gorgeous countryside on your doorstep. We’d love to come back

We spent a wonderful four days as a family of 6, with four teenagers. The house was great - everything of high quality but feeling homely and comfortable. Excellent cooking facilities. Really good space with lovely bedrooms, and the hot tub and sauna made it extra-special.

The Old Vicarage is a beautiful house full of rustic period charm, with all the comfort that comes with modern amenities. The size of the house and number of beds meant that even with our large group, everyone had enough space and privacy. The amenities are amazing - the hot tub and sauna add a bit of luxury, and the foodies among us were especially impressed with the kitchen, which is one of the best equipped I've seen in a holiday let. We brought with us blenders and cake tins etc. but had no need of them! They also have a great coffee machine and two dishwashers - and good quality speakers for a bit of kitchen dancing! I also must mention the beds which were SO incredibly comfortable.

The garden is huge with more than enough seating, enabling us to all sit out to eat every night and enjoy the peaceful summer evenings. And the ping-pong table gave us (literally) hours of fun.

This was our first trip since lockdown, and Elwyn had thought of everything - there was hand sanitiser provided, and anti-bacterial soap at every sink. The house itself was spotless.
Thank you, we can't wait to come back!

Lovely house and gardens - we had a wonderful stay. The contactless check-in instructions/process were comprehensive and easy and worked well.
The house was spotless, well equIpped, nice decor and comfortable furniture and beds.
The gardens were well maintained and spacious with spots for quiet reading, dining and fun with the table tennis table.
The sauna and hot tub were lovely. There was nothing wanting during our stay.
The location was convenient for day trips to the black mountains and Hay on Wye, and for supermarkets near Hereford.
Thank you very much!

I stayed at the house with a group of 10 of us to celebrate my birthday. Excellent location with easy access to the Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley. Although the setting itself is beautiful with rolling countryside and beautiful views. The amenities are excellent with the hot tub and sauna adding real luxury to proceedings. All the rooms are an excellent size and well decorated. The Powell family were very quick to respond, friendly and helpful. I hope to return when they’ve got availability!

We stayed at this property as a group of 7 family members and it was wonderful from start to finish. Everything has been thought of and there are very comprehensive instructions for all the appliances as well. The owners are on the end of a phone and helpful in all matters at all times. The house is very well placed for exploring the Ross - Hay On Wye area and has some fantastic pubs around close by. The house is very warm and well set up. The kitchen has everything you could want with plenty of crockery and cutlery. And 3 fridges!! Amazing. Lovely 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Absolutely perfect for a get together. We all want to move in permanently!!

Our first holiday in over a year could not have been at a better place. The Old Vicarage was a perfect place for our family of four (with two young boys, 2 and 6 years old) to relax and unwind, in a covid-safe manner.

The property itself is beautiful and impeccable. Beautiful, massive gardens with lovely play equipment for the kids and stunning valley views make it a relaxing setting. Inside the sheer space, well equipped modern kitchen, tastefully done rooms with outstanding views and well-stocked bathrooms made our stay easy.

Elwyn was super helpful in addressing our Covid-safety related questions. He shared all the useful information in a simple manner and helped with suggestions for local walks that were suitable to do with young children. He even nudged us to use the hot tub, and we are so thankful for that!

There was plenty to do around the house itself, and lovely walks were our highlight. And while you are there, you must visit Hay-on-Wye as well as Abergavenny (we did the walk up Sugar Loaf) - both Elwyn's suggestions. We loved our stay. It was the kind of holiday where we lost track of time, and came back feeling like we had been away for ages, when it was actually only 6 days! Thank you!

I can't recommend The Old Vicarage highly enough. We had a last minute cancellation of a different venue and found this gem on a whim; the owners could not have been more helpful and thorough in helping us with a last minute booking.

The rooms and facilities are all excellent; all bedrooms are spacious double rooms and the beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the weather stopped us from using the garden, but the kitchen, dining room, living room and sauna were more than enough for a relaxing and entertaining stay.

The owners were incredibly helpful and excellent hosts, even going as far as posting some missing items to us that we left behind.

Again, don't think twice about booking this venue; I can't recommend it highly enough.

Having seen the excellent reviews, The Old Vicarage was carefully chosen for our annual university reunion, complete with families these days!
Can only endorse previous comments, it's a lovely spacious house which has combined old and new with stylish bedrooms. The large open kitchen diner provides a social layout, the breakfast stools are perfect for catching up with friends over morning coffee and as it turned out late nightcaps!
The children enjoyed the extensive grounds, plenty of room for ball games and all enjoyed gazing at the stars from the hot tub...

Was a great place to stay, very well equipped. The location is absolutely stunning, plenty of places to go for walks and the garden is beautiful. There was plenty of room for all my extended family to stay.

One thing I would recommended is that if you are staying here I would bring a couple of small chopping knives as there isn't enough the if you are cooking as a group.

Beautiful, large house great for families or large groups. Loads of games and a large garden with hot tub and sauna keep you occupied, and the kitchen is well equipped for big family dinners. The hosts were communicative and friendly.

It's a perfect place for our needs which are a family escape and get together. We are able to relax and enjoy each others company without interference.
The evenings are especially good with a large lounge and log fire. No need for the television but its there if required.
Everything you could want from the youngest to us oldies.
Couldn't be better for a relaxing weekend.
