Lovely day at Foxton Locks. First visit and will definitely visit again. Very clean and well kept. All staff are extremely friendly and the Canal & River Trust volunteers took exceptional pride in the locks, planting flowers, tending the borders, generally keeping the whole area looking inviting and pristine. Great food at the Foxton Locks Inn, especially the homemade beef & caramelised onion pies. Plenty of walking areas to enjoy, with information boards painting a picture of years gone by. Just an excellent day out.

I've visited today for a nice afternoon walk with a friend and it was a beautiful day for a walk. There was hardly anyone around, possibly due to the cold weather, but we warmed up quickly whilst walking by the canal. We nipped into the pub at the bottom of the locks for a quick drink. We got some gorgeous photos on the walk round, definitely somewhere you can come for a nice walk or to walk the dogs, and in summer you can get ice cream from the parlour halfway down.

Had a great time in Foxton Lock's. Nice to come and just take a walk. Lots of people around and a dog friendly place too. So tranquil, went a Sunday afternoon which was nice. Had an ice cream too! Lots of little cafes/pubs in the area if you want to take a little pitstop.

Foxton Locks are amazing to see. The flight of 10 locks is very interesting to at. It's amazing to see how these locks function with help of volunteers to open and close them. There is also a Canal museum to check out.

Loved these quaint little staircase locks. Met some lovely people whilst both waiting and using the locks. We were grateful for the help from the vlockies 🥰

Fantastic place. You can just have a walk, read about art of engineering or help locksmiths in their work (great adventure for kids)

While we were in the area visiting, I stopped by Foxton locks, where I savoured delicious food at the pub while being mesmerised by the fascinating sight of boats traversing through the historic locks. Additionally, exploring the museum proved to be a delightful experience, offering a worthwhile wander through the exhibits, good value.

A great place to visit. To be able to relax, sit on benches while watching narrow boats go up and down through the locks. Very relaxing. Places there to get food and drink. Staff very friendly. Great to speak to people on the narrow boats. Will definitely return.

We had wanted to visit Foxton Locks for a while and were not disappointed. Lots to see and some lovely local walks. We chatted to a lock keeper who was really interesting, he showed us around and took us to some of the places we would have definitely missed if we were on our own.
I could watch the boats coming through the locks all day! The whole place has a really relaxing atmosphere to it.
Refreshments available from plenty of different places. Have a visit to the pub too as it is full of information on the locks.
Lots of places to park either at the top of the locks or down at the bottom.

Great experiance and a wonderful engineering feat for the early 1900's.
Lunchtime at the Inn was good food and service. Waitress could do with lighting up some what. Parking is the only area that let the facilities down. App payment is a joke. No card payments no help and Cash only. Public toilets could have been cleener and without the pungent pong.

Our first visit to the locks with our friends who lived local. It was very interesting and a great piece of engineering to see. We were lucky enough to see boats go both up and down the locks. The surroundings were beautiful and the ice cream was just as nice. A very pleasant walk in the sun. The hill up the locks can be quite steep and is not ideal for if you have walking issues.

Well worth a visit to walk to the top of the locks and see the boats come though. The museum is brilliant and great for young kids with a small boat to climb in and play. Colouring and learning about the inclined plane add to the trip.

Ever wanted to see water flow uphill? This is the place!
10 uphill locks linking 2 seperate canals for the past 200years.
If your or your child are interested in engineering/science this is a must see. Great British engineering at its finest when it comes to the incline plane.
There is a boiler house museum £4 per adult and free for children and free guided tours of the incline plane itself.
Our volunteer tour guide Paul was incredibly knowledgeable with a folder containing blown up images of it working as reference.
Free parking for blue badge holders and good quality clean facilities too.
There are 2 pub/restaurant available to choose from aswell as a small gift/refreshment shop.
