Nice place to visit if passing. Really knowledgeable staff who are more than happy to pass on what they know. Only open first Sunday of the month though.

Good place for a short trip out for an hour or so. Or you could take a picnic and stay longer to enjoy the simple meadow-like gardens. Fascinating insight into the cultural and political aspects of the Victorian era through the eyes of an under-appreciated architect. All the more interesting because the property is still his descendants' family home.

By National Trust standards this is a small property. Open only on a Sunday but what a great place.
House has a good story and history.
Gardens were nice to walk around.
Cakes are home made by descendants of the original owner.
Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
Well worth a visit.

Great place to visit, not many rooms to look at as family still live in main part of house, but have lovely grounds to walk around and interesting information in the rooms you can visit, also a small out building that you can help your self to tea and cake, with honesty box.

Great place for U3A and other interested groups to arrange a private visit. Fantastic home made cakes and tea included!
Please support this important local historical and lovely place to ensure that it remains open to the public.

Lovely family home atmosphere, because the family really still live there. Garden with picnic space including trees to give shade. The front gate is a bit narrow, especially if you approach from the east but there is a parking field straight ahead once you get in. I think next time I might go up the lane opposite, find somewhere to turn round then have a straight approach to the gate. The guides were all knowledgeable and there is a small self service tea room. If the musical box is not playing, ask them to demonstrate it. It is lovely!

Lovely 2 hrs at the enchanted woodland, lots of creative play with plenty of arts and crafts activities to keep a 4 and 5 year old amused. They loved decorating wands, making potions. Chasing the goblins and the games were fun. Loved the bow and arrows, crossbow and slingshot which made their day

Delightful gem near Cobham. The house of the Baker family partially open to the public. Loved the informality and the helpfulness of the staff. Check out the self service tea room, excellent home made cakes and biscuits. An yes you do have to make your own tea and coffee. Truly self service!

Magical place. Kids loved looking for owls all over the house. Extremely friendly hosts and delicious Swedish home-baked goods in the simple and affordable cafe. The garden is a joy. Will go back!

Today was a shared Birthday and Fathers day treat from our daughter Verity. A booked afternoon tea with amazing home made swedish sandwiches, scones, cakes and bscts. (Sandwiches were to die for made by Bella's own fair hands). We was greeted by friendly family and staff but David was a real gentleman and a great host. We took a walk around the house and garden and felt we had found a little gem of a place right under our noses after being local for such a long time. Wishing the family lots of future happiness.

The house which doesn't take long to look around was really interesting. The bird of prey display which was on was superb and the archery people were very friendly and helpful.

A small but interesting house and garden. Plenty of interest about architecture in the days of empire, and a good tea room too.
