The Shehnai Indian Restaurant

Since moving to Cupar in the summer we have visited this restaurant many times. Sometimes eating in, others getting take away (and a cheeky pint whilst waiting). Mr Gary is lovely and really helpful and the food is the best I’ve had in Fife! Loved the Madras, Rogan Josh and Dhansak… amazing starters too. Never enough room for dessert after huge nan breads. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough!

Very, very good Indian. Staff are very helpful and friendly, the restaurant is clean and inviting, the food was very tasty and could tell ingredients were freshly cooked. Would definitely go back and would recommend.

Absolutely awesome!!!! Late night customer service 5**** Food so delicious. From the pakoras to the veggie Balti totally scrumptious.They are 1000 times better than the rest in Cupar. The veggie Balti is super.

The best Indian Restaurant ever. Love the food, not a huge menu but everything is fresh, well cooked and wonderful presented. The staff are wonderful, friendly, attentive without being pushy. I have been going there for 21 years and never had a bad meal.

Sadly this year I have not been able to get to my favourite Indian Restaurant. I travel from Glasgow to this one and it truly is my go to-lace for Indian food. Staff are always amazing and welcoming, and the food is for me the best. Can't wait to be able to return when all this is over and sit down and enjoy a great meal. Don't hesitate to ask to share curries, or ask how hot or mild they are, they can always adjust to suit. As Arnie says, I'll be back xx

Love this place. Food is really good and the staff were really accommodating. They're undergoing some refurbishment and the decor is looking brighter! Definitely a place to keep going back to. Best reserve a table though especially at weekends

Excellent, high quality food with friendly service.

So, it didn't ok good. The staff started off not to understand that only some people wanted poppadoms, irritated one of the group by making ordering more difficult than necessary, one dish was startlingly over red, and the garlic bread just as surprisingly green, and the two big green chilli chunks on top of a not very hot dish was a concern, as was the need to hunt for the rice in the coconut rice (just call it coconut?) ... BUT ... when you ate it, the food and flavours are really good. Someone really cares about the tastes, their balance, and this is good food, well made, and a real pleasure to eat.

Some of the best Indian food I've had. Good portion sizes, absolutely lovely staff and service. We felt very welcome and then had delicious food!

At the Shehnai I have had great service and the food is always amazing. I would recommend it to anyone in the world. I f you don't like spicy food do not worry because there are lots of dishes that are not spicy at all.
So tonight I am going to eat lots of food and have a great time. You can eat in and out and it is about the same price. I love the Shehnai!😄

Very friendly staff, excellent service and beautiful food. Thr staff were very helpful and happy to explain ingredients of the dishes. My husband tried the seafood thali and was not disappointed, a beautiful blend of flavours and dishes. We will definitely call again when we are in the area.

My favourite restaurant. Been going here for the best part of 15 years and have always thoroughly enjoyed. The food is excellent and so are the staff. Gary is always so welcoming and knows how to deliver a great customer experience.
