The Hollybush Inn Denford

Great find…. Whilst looking for a campsite happend across this place just as it opened at 12 o’clock.
Had a coffee and a chat with Julie, so helpful she should have been a tour guide, gave us some options of campsites which we had already checked, then said you can use our grass area if you’re self sufficient!
We stayed the night along with 3 camper vans.
The pub has lots of parking, under cover outdoor seating, play area and is yards away from the canal with frequent stopping narrow boats.
There are lots of walks from here along the canal so you can build an appetite ready for dinner.
Steak pie was awesome my wife really enjoyed an ample portion of lasagna
Great choice of beers and wine
As a bonus you can get day hire of a narrow boat right outside the pub.
Such an enjoyable experience.
Last food is about 20:30

Evening meal with wife. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. Then spent night in campervan in there grass area of carpark. Will be back. Also a lovely spot to sit outside with a drink on canal Bank and watch the world go by.

I came in solo after boating all day on the canal & was pleasantly surprised with how busy it was for a Thursday night. Two sides to pub. A restaurant side which looked modern and then the other side a traditional pub with lovely furnishings and decor. The staff was super friendly & the owner gave me lots of advise on the area & even offered to post my post cards that I had written out as there was not a post box close by. The food was delicious & I will make sure I come back to this place for another visit and I don’t live locally.

I cannot fault this place at all, we rang ahead and spoke to friendly staff and arrived just in time to order our evening meals and refreshments, the prices are more than adequate and portions just right.
Food is tasty and kitchen staff again are friendly.
Lovely walks along the canal after our meal then off to bed and were asleep in minutes, woke to birdsong and rain but hey its near the moors!!
Would definitely return and have decided to stay again tonight and make a weekend of it 👍😊

Just eaten one of the best meals in a pub for a long time. Fillet steak with a beautiful sauce of our choice. Beautifully cooked to our requirements, top quality and fantastic value. The ambiance in this pub is very welcoming with open fires very cosy. The staff are lovely too. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, good range of beers on tap and great countryside views. My go to place for a weekend relaxing meal in the countryside.

Myself and family all had steaks mushrooms online rings peppercorn sauce I was in early had glass red wine from bottle corked and later had it with my dinner a very enjoyable evening dog friendly as well busy pub beside the canals lots of walkers cyclists jiggers Leek was just so pretty we stayed at No 6 hollybush cottage fabulous 4 nights open coal fire PsStuff at pub lovely too a special thanks to Julie and staff Xx

What a brilliant pub. We called in with our New Zealand friends and enjoyed both the food and beer. I chose a steak and ale pie, and it was truly exceptional with loads of tender steak in it and 4 perfectly cooked fresh veg with it. As a real ale fan, it was great to see the selection on offer. I was too full to have a pudding, but they looked great!

This is the second time we have been here, summer and winter.
The food and service is excellent, allways a warm welcome.

We love it here, such a beautiful country pub right on the canal. Absolutely stunning in the hot weather. Can get quite busy though. Food is always delicious and their chips are to die for! Great prices too.

Nice rural place to go out on a days out. A nice canelside dinery with a wide range of items on the menu. The canel is right next to the diner with a bridge that goes over it. They have an outside dining area as well as a large inside area. Friendly staff and great facilities, highly recommended on a nice sunny day!

One of those idyllic country pubs canal side. Very friendly with good food and a selection of beers, lagers wine and spirits. I always visit when in the area.

Traditional pub roast by an open fire. Generous portions for very reasonable price. Dogs and children welcome. Patron of 20 years.

What a little gem on the canal! Walk from Endon or from Cheddleton along the canal and you'll come across the lovely pub. It serves good pub food, the usual type of menu with decent sized portions and great flavours too. I had the Steak and Ale pie and the wife had the Gammon and Egg. Both really tasty, washed down with a good selection of Beers and Lager. The nearby chocolate box cottages and rolling countryside make this a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy a pint after a dog walk. The whole pub being dog friendly. Recommended

Very impressed with our recent visit for lunch. We had not visited for a few years. Great improvements have been made to both the interior & exterior. There is ample outdoor seating & a separate area with seating for families & children with an adventure playground. The food was delicious and the surroundings idyllic. We will definitely be back. There is still a queueing system to order food/drinks but it moved fairly quickly.

Lovely pub, wish it was my local, staff so helpful, service perfect, and the food was first class.terry young and family.

The Landlady and her staff are fantastic. There is also a small grass area where you can park up for the night. They are dog-friendly as well.
