What a great garden centre.
We spend a lovely afternoon here today.
Started off with a delicious lunch in the restaurant… yes prices are on the high side but no different to other garden centre restaurants, the food portions were big and the ambiance of the place was beautiful and relaxing.
Staff were helpful, friendly and polite and cakes mouthwatering!!

So after a leisurely lunch we spend another hour or so looking around the actual garden centre lol
So much here and beautiful presented.

The plants looked healthy and cared for - really beautiful displays.
Lovely gifts can be bought for presents, they have a large shop just for dogs/cats merchandise and food.
- there’s even a separate coffee shop where you can bring your dog in.

As you wonder around then you’re led into the food hall, again very well displayed, delicious breads, cheeses, vegetables and meats - spoilt for choice!!

Definitely will be returning soon, can’t wait to try the coffee shop next time.

Would recommend! Ordered a gorgeous Heritage Plant Pot from their website. Item was carefully packaged by Daniel and was delivered in great time - I’m very happy with the product and service!

Brilliant garden centre with lots to see and do. Had a breakfast at the restaurant which was delicious. Met the goats, donkeys and alpacas. Browsed in the farm and Christmas shops and bought lots of goodies. The Christmas village was absolutely fantastic, must have taken such a long time to put together. The site is quite large but well signposted. Staff are friendly and helpful. New favourite!!

The tea room/restaurant is excellent though best to avoid the very busy lunch period (12 - 2 pm) if you haven't booked a table. The service is quick and friendly. Like most garden centres, a lot of space is taken up with home furnishings, clothes, food and other non-gardening stuff. Fortunately, there is still plenty of space for quality plants, seeds and garden accessories. We had an enjoyable lunch, bought 5 plants and 3 packets of seed. Helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Great garden centre full of everything you could want. Awesome plant selection plus a plethora of home, toys and decorative items. Friendly staff. Nice cafe there as well for some refreshments. Well recommended and we definitely visit again.

First time at the Old Railway Garden Centre and wont be the last, worth the 27 mile trip from Hereford.
5 Stars for the Quality of the plants.
5 Stars for the friendliest of staff.
5 Stars for the shopping experience.
The food was great value for money, be prepared to queue though...its a very busy dining area but it's a fair system that they use.

Fabulous garden centre to visit. They really have a sense of fun with the seasonal displays. So colourful too. My grandchildren love going round to see what's happening with the resident train and tractor, as well as racing with the children's trolleys to pick up the bird feed. There is so much to see and do from flowers to fish, trees, and bushes. Kitchen ware, clothes and gifts, this place has it all!
There is a lovely restaurant inside with great views, for a well-earned hot chocolate and homemade cake .. but just as nice is the outdoors coffee n cake stand with seating. Great on a hot day. It's not so nice when it's wet!
The garden centre staff are very community minded and helpful as I know some of the local elderly residents have food from the restaurant delivered to them. Fabulous idea as it's quite a trek to the nearest supermarket and not all have local families or cars.
Well worth a visit for the plants, but food is lovely too. Great for all ages.

October 2022
The autumn displays, including Halloween look fab. Sadly, I forgot my phone for photos ... next time

BUT

Christmas is coming... check out the grotto and other events. Great for the family and big kids of all ages... My personal favourite is when the llamas, sheep, and donkeys put in appearance 😊

August 2023
Today , I and two little pirates with mini trolleys as ships decided to look for some new pots for our Monsteras.
The summer displays are stunning, and we were fortunate to see the planning stages of the Autumn displays being set up. A coffee for me, plenty of cake, and some milkshakes set us up for our mission to find some fabulous pots at great prices.
Extra money off too for using our loyalty card!!
Can't wait to come again :0)

Lots of beautiful plants and trees here, lovely tea room and a separate restaurant, both with rest rooms and disabled facilities. Surprisingly it's dog friendly too! The food hall has lots to offer and the staff are great. Christmas is just getting underway and can't wait to visit again soon.

One of the best garden centres I have been too. A superb range of plants as you would expect but what was unusual was the quality of them all. A lovely collection of acres too.
There is a very large carpark, large food hall and an aquatic section. In addition there is restaurant (which I did not visit but was informed they serve a roast on Sunday but this can make it quite busy) and a small tea room which was very organised and offered a large selection of cakes and scones. I can see why this garden center has won a number of awards and if I was in the area again I would not hesitate to return.

Garden centre getting ready for spring. Good choice of plants and products for the garden. Usual over priced gift section but I dislike this in garden centres. Yes to cards, wrapping paper & garden produce, the rest is for gift shops. Cafe very good, relaxing with friendly helpful staff. Garden centre staff also very helpful

Outstanding displays currently hosting a Halloween theme from the moment you enter the centre to the special Halloween grotto to the loft space at the tills. Christmas lights, tinsel, angels, fairies and off course Santa are all around the store. A full restaurant indicates it must be good we had tasty ice creams outside on sunny October visit. Dog friendly this garden centre is well worth a visit.

We visited the Old Railway Garden Centre on a very wet, stormy weekend (Storm Kathleen), perfect decision.
Situated just outside Brecon Town, Powys.
Plenty of car parking spaces.
Huge garden centre, has literally everything needed for the gardener.
Warm cafe with a good variety on the menu.
Farm shop, homeware and clothing departments.
A definate place to visit if you're in or near the area.

I have visited the garden centre many times as I live in close proximity but I've never had lunch there before. The food was excellent and I could have chosen several dishes from their extensive menu. It is busy and I should imagine it will be even more so the lead up to Christmas. They do roast dinners on a Thursday and Sunday.
The staff were putting their Christmas stock on display and I must say what a display it is. I have never seen so many different items on show. Well worth a visit just to go there and take a walk around but allow yourself plenty of time if you go with the intention of browsing!

Biggest and best garden centre I've seen. There is even a naughty parrott that walks around. Great produce on offer especially the scotch eggs.
