A very beautiful place for a family weekend. Comfortable and very well equipped!
Plenty of activities within 1 hour around.

A lovely, spacious gîte in a peaceful surrounding. Very warm welcome by the hosts, Gary and Amanda. Cosy warm fireplace to enjoy as well as a superb family-kitchen. Thanks guys for a great stay!

Gary and Amanda give you a warm welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are smart and very clean. Breakfast is varied and is of very good quality and quantity. The fresh croissants are lovely!

Our evening meal was super and we were able to take advantage of the good weather and eat outside which was most enjoyable.

I would have no hesitation is recommending Combrailleurs as an ideal location for exploring the Auvergne being an hour away from the Puy de Dôme, Vichy, Clermont Ferrand etc.

A group of 6 of us took 3 rooms here on a B&B basis for 4 nights in July.

I think when writing a review its important to be objective and honest, so here is my review.

Finding the B&B was easy enough, the navigator took us nearly to the door (although on leaving Google maps tried to take us up a farm track :) TURN LEFT out the B&B not right!!).

On arrival Gary and his wife Amanda came out to greet us, showed us to our rooms and then invited us down stairs to the dining area and through to the garden to sit and have a nice (well earned) cold beer.

Be warned, there are quite a few flies in this region as it is mainly farmland, cattle etc but although they were first annoying you soon adapt and relax and just use the occasional wave of the hand to get rid of them.

Rooms are SPOTLESS, I can be a real pain if my bed or bathroom have marks / stains etc but I was more than happy with the cleanliness of my room. Nice sized bed, a wardrobe, 2 bedside cabinets LARGE bathroom / toilet with a superb shower. You only sleep, wash and dress so this room is more than adequate.
I only have one small gripe about the room and that was it was so hot, spoke to Gary and he did take it on board and was going to review getting a small fan to move the air about, but then the heat was exceptional.

Whats there?? there is a garden / grass area with some sun beds and a temorary pool, the pool was a life saver when the temperature hit over 40c and we returned from a mountain hike hot and exhausted, jumping (carefully) into that pool was the best feeling ever.

Breakfast is a typicle continental affair, no bacon and eggs here but then Im in France so dont expect it, plenty of fresh fruit, juice, ham, cheese, croissant etc and of course, English tea :)

Gary and Amanda are "Proper" people, they care about your stay, they have both learned a lot about the local area and know loads of places to go for trips and eating.

So the big question, would I go back and stay ther again???

Au delà de la qualité de l'hébergement et des petits-déjeuners, Nous avons passé un très très agréable séjour grâce à la rencontre de nos hôtes.
Amanda et Gary sont "so lovely, charming and adorable".
Nous avons beaucoup aimé le temps passé en leur compagnie.

Malgré une arrivée tardive suite à des imprévus, Amanda et Gary nous ont accueillis très chaleureusement. Le Diner était parfait, la nuit calme et paisible, et le petit déjeuner était copieux.

Séjour pour le réveillon du jour de l'an 2021/2022 : génial !! Gite vraiment bien conçu, nous étions 6 adultes, 6 enfants. Le top avec les salles de bains et toilettes dans chaque chambre. Grande pièce de vie, cuisine très bien équipée. Décoration avec goût, grandes chambres. Pratique car les propriétaires avaient mis les draps et serviettes à disposition.
En parlant des propriétaires : d'une extrême gentillesse avec nous, malgré des problèmes électriques dus à Enedis, ils ont veillé toute la nuit pour que nous ayons de l'électricité. Encore un grand merci à eux pour leur bienveillance, leur gentillesse et leur charmant accent anglais !
Nous recommandons ce gîte sans hésitation, car il est vraiment top, et les propriétaires extraordinaires. Il est fort possible que nous revenions !

Amanda et Gary sont charmants, accueillants. La chambre familiale parfaite, propre, assez grande. Le dîner était bon , le Petit déjeuner copieux. Je recommanderai.

Excellent séjour dans cette jolie demeure accueil parfait le cuisinier est au top ! Des plats très copieux le dialogue avec Amanda est sympa je recommandé vivement cette chambre et table d hotes le petit déjeuner copieux on'peut se servir tout au long de la journée café thé BOUILLOIRE a disposition eau fraiche

Sehr liebe Gastgeber, die bemüht sind den Aufenthalt so gemütlich als möglich zu machen.

Dit is het meest perfecte chambre d'hotes die wij ooit hebben bezocht. Nu voor de 2e keer hier in eigen gite. Volgend jaar weer. Ook tables d'hotes mogelijk. Beslist een aanrader als je de Auvergne bezoekt.

Très bon séjour d'une nuit aux "combrailleurs".
Les chambres sont spacieuses avec une salle d'eau incluant une douche à l'italienne très pratique et de bonne taille.
Parking privé contre les chambres.
Environnement très calme et dans la Nature.
Accès à un espace commun avec une grande table, un frigo, un babyfoot et un coin salon.
Petit déjeuner (inclus dans le prix) copieux et varié.
Les hôtes sont très agréables et très serviables. D'origine anglaise, ils comprennent et parlent très bien le français.
Très bon rapport qualité / prix.
Je recommande vivement ce gîte !
