Chez Pépé

I'd drive for many Kms to get here. It's great. The fish selection and cooking style is perfect. The starters are inventive. The ice cream is phenomenal (and I'm so hard to please, even in my native Italy). Finally, the staff are first rate! Come for the fish, start with the champagne, stay for the sunset and hospitality! Do not miss out!

Visited a week ago to celebrate a birthday and was positively surprised with the choice available on the menu. Several types of fish, - beyond the fabulous oysters, good cheese and dessert card too and a beautiful setting

This is by far the best restaurant in Ares, I highly recommend it! The surroundings are beautiful, you'll be sitting in a little harbour which is super traditional and not very built up. This fisherman's huts and fairy lights with view on the sea and the sunset... dreamy! For the food you can expect fresh fish, shellfish, oysters and delicious desserts. However what sets it apart is really the staff. They're incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is really relaxed and friendly. They also deal with issues in such a fast and professional and friendly way. We sat down and about 15min into dinner a storm started. The staff moved all the tables inside at lightning speed catching all coats, plates and bottles in seconds to bring everything inside. All whilst staying up beat, happy and making it fun for clients. Nothing short of an amazing evening!

Great experience! Oysters were fresh and delicious, which was expected from any decent oyster shop in that area. chez Pépé didn’t disappoint. But we were really amazed by the tuna “ceviche” (closer to a poke). It’s not everyday that you get a fresh complex tasty and original dish but that’s exactly what we got tonight.
Service was great as well.

This is easily the best restaurant in the bassin d'Arcachon. Every single dish was spot on, the tartar was fresh and delicious, the rillettes were smooth and flavorful and the soles... The soles were one the best fish we had in a while. Bravo to the chef!

Even though it’s 3,5 years ago, I would like to thank the personnel. Coming straight out of the hospital due to a nasty surfing accident at 10PM, my son and I only had 30 minutes to have something to eat before the taxi would come. Not only did we get one of the best tables, they were extremely helpful and suggested we’d order the tuna as that could be served quickly. The patron even offered to charge my phone. Not only was the food was delicious and the ambiance great (live music), but everyone was so kind and helpful to us! Best service I’ve ever had!! Thank you for turning a bad day into the best evening of my holiday….

Real honest harbor restaurant with food almost jumping from the sea on your plate

Lovely place, great people, fresh seafood. Couldn't ask for more. Totally recommend. We arrived at four after having cycled for two hours and the restaurant should have been closed. Yet he was super cool and served us even though we were the only customers.

A wonderful evening at chez pépé, the food, the service and the view, everything was perfect. The fish was cooked to perfection, as usual. If you love fresh fish and seafood this is the place for you 😋

Chez Pepe, c'est...le top du top. Un cadre exceptionnel, une cuisine typique du bassin, des serveurs magiques et une ambiance conviviale. Merci car on passe toujours un moment extra !!

Merci pour nous avoir fait partager de bons et beaux plats goûteux et copieux. Oui je vous le dis il y a encore des cuisiniers et de belles idées en France. Le tout servi par une jeune femme souriante.

Un agréable moment pour dîner, des mets succulents et de toute fraîcheur. Du fait maison pour les desserts !
Le temps n'était pas au rendez vous, mais tout en étant en extérieur, nous étions bien protégés.
Prévoyez une petite veste 😉.
Un service rapide, et un personnel très agréable.
Petit plus très appréciable : nos amis les chiens sont les bienvenus, nous sommes venus avec nos deux gros chiens ; et aucun souci (nous avions prévenu au préalable).
Nous avions également la poussette de mon fils, nous avons été placé en conséquence et d'adorables attentions pour que le petit n'est pas trop le ressenti du vent.
Pensez a réserver tout de même, les places sont prises d'assaut.
Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

Gelegen direkt an einem kleinem Hafen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und toll angerichtet. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, schnell und zuvorkommend. Ein Ausflug hier hin lohnt sich.

Génial. Bravo à toute l'équipe Nous avons mangé du MAIGRE et des pequillos: cuisson parfaite pour le poisson, entrées fraiches et copieuses, vraiment excellent. Ambiance agréable, service très sympathique et efficace: que dire de plus. Allez-y, vous y passerez un super moment. Un restaurant qui allie la qualité des produits, du service, de l'accueil et du cadre... j'ai tout dit.

Mieux vaut réserver.. Et on comprend pourquoi 👍🙃
Cuisine excellente, ambiance agréable, service plutôt attentionné et responsable qui fait son maximum pour satisfaire la clientèle.
Une bouteille de vin comptée à la place d'un verre, dans le feu de l'action ou avec la fatigue peut-être, mais il suffit de vérifier son addition 😉
