Don’t be turned off by the not-so-welcoming welcome. Past that, a culinary delight is waiting for you. The menu changes with the season and puts a lot of emphasis on truffle, since this is region’s pride for being a big producer. If you have, try gourmet plate, the truffle potato mesh is amazing. As for mains, the lamb and veal are delightful. The chocolate ganache was probably the best I had in my life.

Had a fantastic meal. The staff was very friendly, helped us with our french as we ordered since we are novice french speakers! Very tasty, and everything brought by a perfect gentleman server. :) Would highly recommend this place!

Absolutely delicious meal. We had a steak topped with foie gras and truffle, followed by an epic desert which was a nougat with truffles and strawberries. Decor and ambience is ok but service was good. We went for lunch so the food was really the focus and it exceeded our expectation.

Just had one of the best meals we've had in France for a long time. Amazing food lovely house wine at a reasonable price and excellent staff. Couldn't ask for more.

Excellent restaurant in Aups, south of France.

Delicious lunch around the theme of truffles. We shared the truffle based starter, main course and dessert dishes in parallel to our other choices. The scrambled eggs and truffles were really light and well flavoured. The cepe mushroom soup with fois gras was the real hit exploding with taste set off against roasted hazelnuts. The truffle risotto with St Jacques was delicious as was the rabbit. The truffle ice cream and truffle caramel was where the taste of truffle came though the most. Absolutely to be tried at least once in one's life. Very efficient service. Good drink and wine list. Must book in advance as a very sought after address and not surprisingly.

It’s a hidden gem! Amazing food! We come to Aups every year and have just discovered it. Don’t miss out - best food in Aups !!!

The best veal steak I have ever tasted.

This place is just about the best restaurant in the Northern Var. Small and intimate, superb cooking with quality ingedients and always very consistent. It fully deserves all its accolades. We have been dining here for years and hope to do so for many years to come. M. et Madame Surback take a bow. Merci beaucoup!

De passage en tant que locaux, un pur hasard de réserver dans ce restaurant où nous voulions seulement un repas "simple". Malgré une salle assez froide en terme de décoration, quelle agréable surprise pour les papilles ! Nous nous sommes régalés, en prenant le menu mise en bouche, plat, dessert. Le jeune cuisinier a su nous faire voyager, il a du talent. Merci pour ce moment.

Petit + : Il serait intéressant d'indiquer la provenance des légumes (petit doute sur leur fraicheur pour ceux accompagnant le veau).

Petit restaurant avec un accueil et un service parfaits. Les plats sont délicatement décorés, avec une saveur d'arômes. Bravo au chef cuisinier ! Les desserts sont exquis avec une note toute particulière au fenouil confit, une très belle découverte.
