Have visited Paul & Val’s place several times and have always been extremely impressed with everything from the minute we enter the premises. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location surrounded by beautiful mountain views. The outdoor terrace area is as beautifully presented as it is inside; spotlessly clean covers, sparkling (inviting) glasses along with quality cutlery. It‘s always a good start and you know you’re in for a most enjoyable evening. Inside, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and set out. It’s illustrates perfectly the pride that the owners set on standards which is then reflected in the food and fine wines that are available. Once settled a series of tantalising amuse bouchée are presented, all perfectly fresh and appetising. I’ve tried several things on the menu and the food is superb, a great choice and always difficult to know what to try next. The desserts are equally as tasty. All beautifully presented and delivered to the table by a superb team of staff, all of whom are very professional, friendly and helpful. I can’t recommend Quatre Saisons enough. The hosts and staff strive hard to make your experience very special. Thank you!

Just had a takeaway and I must say it was delicious. Although we live about 40 minutes away from the restaurant the food arrived hot and was very, very tasty. Great service, extensive menu and excellent value for money. We have eaten at Restaurant Aux Quatre Saisons many times and have never been disappointed. Paul, Val and the team always go out of their way to make you feel welcome, cannot recommend highly enough.

Wonderful little restaurant serving classy food.
Great design inside and compact lunch menu. Le Train Rouge (tourist train along old railway) sounds its horn as it approaches the town.... and the chef and team wave back to us!
Restaurant completely filled when the train came in (so booking ahead is recommended) and still managed feed us all in good time for the return journey!
The managers can also speak English (for those of us who can't remember seafood names).
Very friendly Chef popped around to check all was good. A wonder last day of our short holiday. Can't fault it.

Went in the evening for my husband's birthday. We all had the set menu's which were really good value and there was a veggie one which was great for me as vegetarian. Food lovely, owners so friendly and they even bought out a candle for my husband and gave him a bottle of wine as a gift at the end. Highly recommended.

What a delightful find at the end of the red train journey.

A true delight of a passionate English couple running a top quality restaurant here in this small town of Axat.

French staff who are simply wonderful, very attentive and efficient.

There is plenty of choice of menu items to suit all tastes.

Go here if you are on the are, you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent food, excellent service and great value for money.

This was completely the highlight of our holiday so far. Arrived 7.00 pm,left at midnight! We were wined and dined to the highest standard. Paul,' Le Patron' produced food that did all it should, the cheeseboard, personally served and explained, by Paul was incredible. I know we Brits, well I certainly have have a great admiration for French cuisine, but this really was an experience to be remembered, and guess what? Paul and his other half, both originated from England. If you are in the area,do not miss this high class restaurant, where attention to detail and a personal touch are paramount. Prices? Go and be surprised. Paul,Val and Miguel will offer you an experience not to be missed. Gordon

We came across the restaurant in Axat just as we were passing through and were attracted by the wisteria, colourful fairy lights and green Citroen 2CV. Sold, we decided to go in for our evening meal. We were offered 2 menus, as it was a quiet evening, one of 3 courses for around €19 and one for around €24. The food was excellent, with appetisers included in the menu. We also were able to select cheeses in between our main and dessert which were all local and specially selected by Paul and Val, the lovely owners. This was included in the menu and came with port to wash it down.

Overall our meal cost €50 for two people, this was a complete bargain with the standard of food being so high and the owners and staff being so delightful. We would recommend to anyone, you'll have a relaxed evening in a beautifully decorated and intimate restaurant. A must if passing through the Pyrenees.

What à perfect setting to enjoy the fabulous food that you are served. Great choice of wines too. To top it all off the prices are very very reasonable. The best place to enjoy lunch or dinner in Axat, but it's popular so I recommend to book ahead.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The hospitality, food and location are all terrific. As soon as we come back to Axat, Aux Quatre Saisons will be one of our first stops. The cheese platter is a must.

Visited for the first time. Staying with friends who live in Ginoles who took us there for Sunday lunch. Wonderful food. The smoked haddock soup and rhum baba brought back fond memories. Paul and Val are brilliant hosts. Very friendy and knowledgeable. Would go back again in a heart beat.

Beautiful setting up in the mountains, with lots of activities (walking, running, cycling, climbing, kayak, white water raft). Aux 4 S is a top quality Chambers d'hôtel (owner lives in, no more than 6 guest rooms) where most rooms have balcony and views, air-conditioning, en suite.
Our room has all of this, plus water (and milk) in fridge
Breakfast is large and varied, with BabyBel cheese and fruit to make up a snack lunch. Restaurant looks excellent although no vegetarian options (we ate out but give the hosts some warning and I'm sure they will accommodate).
English host, but with all of the activities locally, there are quite a few English visitors so most of the shops/ restaurants / markets etc will make you welcome and understand broken French, switching to English if you need.
Axat version of tourism is well-kept roads and clear signs to well-kept facilities. Apart from the standards of maintenance of châteaux locally, it's essentially unspoilt

What can I say...made me and my family so welcome for my daughter's 18th birthday celebration.Run by chef Paul and his lovely wife Val,it's gorgeous setting and out of this world food makes this a must to anyone visiting the area.Made a fantastic birthday cake which was to die for, the locally sourced cheeses that are presented before pudding....WOW..... accompanied with several glasses of port and brandy.
Keep up the very high standard's Paul and val
and thank you.

I have stayed here twice. The welcome was exceptional as was the food. I ate here exclusively and was very happy with the high quality of the food and wine. I would have no hesitation in returning to Aux Quatre Saisons and I highly recommend it to all.
