What a wonderful cafe! After visiting the Van Gogh museum upstairs (a moving experience) we headed down to the cafe for a late lunch. It is full of atmosphere and you could imagine Vincent would recognise it if he came back today. We ordered the large cheese and meat boards which were very generous and delicious and the accompanying bread was also great. We had the raspberry and pistachio tart for dessert which was heavenly. Our children had the chocolate mousse and cookie which they also loved. We can’t wait to return. Totally recommend.

Visiting an Auberge where the world renowned Vincent Van Gogh spent his last couple months living before his death. We started by having lunch at this historical restaurant by eating their famous charcuterie and followed by visiting the tiny room of the painter. If you visit Paris…this small city of Auvers sur-Oise is worth the visit. And this restaurant is a NOT TO MISS.

I recently had the pleasure of a unique tour of the Auberge Ravoux. The life, paintings and letters of Vincent Van Gogh have been guiding me spiritually for over a decade now. I’ve seen almost all of his public works, followed in his footsteps from Paris, to London, to Amsterdam, St. Remy, Arles and now Auvers Sur Oise. The icing on the cake was visiting the room of VVG at the Auberge Ravoux. Mr. Janssens is dedicated to keeping Van Gogh’s time in Auvers true and authentic. The Auberge Ravoux is the official home of Vincent Van Gogh, there’s nothing truer than this. Thank you again for giving me such a priceless gift.

The location where Vincent van Gogh lived the last months of his life, that must be good. That is good! I'm so happy that the owners keep the memories of van Gogh alive and show respect for the history and this great painter. Some day I hope to enjoy my meal at Auberge Ravoux and will be more than happy to pay €6,- to see Vincent's room.
Bonne chance avec votre beau restaurant et souvenez-vous de la belle historie.
A bientot.

Vincent van Gogh's last home. Very touching to see his room, his grave and where he painted. Beautiful village, absolutely worth a visit 😍

Lovely experience having lunch where Vincent Van Gogh spent his last 3 months. The staff were absolutely lovely and the forage platter with wine as well as fruit tarts was excellent, Throughly enjoyed the experience.

We had a lovely meal here. Service was excellent; the menus were in French but the waiter explained each dish to us in English.

We had the cured fish and foie gras; both were excellent and reasonably priced for a tourist attraction.

Beautifully maintained historic cafe. Visit of Van Gogh's room was very interesting and poignant. Guide was multi-lingual and took time to answer questions. Lovely period photos set to music tell the history of the town, cafe and Vincent.

Was a really nice and emotional visit ! i dont understand why people give low scores and saying 6€ (its literally the price of a kebab💀) for a visit to his room is expensive💀💀 we literally get to visit the place where the legendary Vincent Van Gogh DIED, exhaled his LAST breath in that EXACT bedroom decades before. Eventhough there is only a chair on that tiny bedroom but we supposed to feel the ambiance from the event. Its not a tourist trap, its a memorial place so if you think 6€ is expensive for this, this is clearly not for you.

I just had a dessert and coffee. The look and feel of the place remains the same like the time Van Gogh stayed at this place. A very unique and historic place! Prices are somewhat expensive but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I was there at a very odd hour on May day so most of the restaurants were closed. Nevertheless a very memorable experience indeed.

The town has a great way of preserving all these historic landscape since 1800s. This is to ensure that everyone who visits the place will still have the same resemblance when van gogh and other painters made their paintings. This Auberge Ravoux is where Van Gogh has stayed his last few days. Very historical.

This is a Micheline starred restaurant. not a fine diner, however on the second floor, something to see and feel; Van Gogh rented a room here for 70 days -last 70 days of his life The room is 7 square meters with a small window on the ceiling. He shot himself and died couple of days later in this very room.

I much-anticipated visiting this landmark. When I arrived I was mostly spellbound. The building and decor have been masterfully crafted to reflect the same decor from the late 1800s. The meals that my family and I enjoyed were impeccable. Beautiful presentation and delicious. The absinthe ice cream was perfect. I highly recommend dining in the café as you also plan your tour of Vincent van Gogh's bedroom. The video that was shown before the tour was Beautiful, heartwarming, and emotionally moving. It certainly was the best way to introduce others to the man and his work if any visitor is unfamiliar with this artist. We were escorted in small groups up a tiny stairwell and through a couple of rooms before we entered Vincent's room. There is but one chair in his room. To me, a fan of the man and artist, I understood the deep intention of a single chair. Some visitors are offended at paying to tour and see one chair. But if you are familiar with Vincent's story you are deeply moved and understand the significance and symbolism. The upstairs, including his room, have been painstakingly preserved, exactly as it was when Vincent lived there. (So if you are bored or aghast at very simple primitive living conditions you will be disappointed. There are many ornate French chateaus for that. You will feel as though you wasted your time and your money.) This was all that Vincent could afford. And it is cleverly captured in the simplicity of this place. Our tour guide spoke broken English and offered only highlights of the history. I would love to sit with the man who restored this building and talk at length with him. It was a pleasure to meet him, and enjoyed his introduction to his profound project and love of Van Gogh. This place is an education not only of an artist but also of the heart and spirit of the man. I highly recommend going. And truthfully I yearn to return.

I may be out of touch with the upper echelons of the world-traveling, fine-dining populace, but if I am going to a town that redefines the word 'picturesque,' let's me enter the room where Van Gogh lived and died, and feeds me obscenely delicious food in the actual location where Vincent took his meals, I'm going to expect to pay some money for it....... sorry, I made the rookie mistake of reading other people's reviews before writing my own and read a few gripes about the price..... that said, my mother-in-law paid for everything when I visited so I don't really have any room to talk... yet here I am...

Of the dozens of establishments I ate at while visiting Paris and the surrounding area (which included a Michelin-rated place) this was my favorite both for the food, the service, and the overall experience. The lamb was possibly the most delicious taste I will ever have the pleasure of knowing. The waiter's English was spotty but he helped us patiently to understand the menu, and did not show the irritation that I came to expect from French waiters when I butchered the words 'parlez-vous anglais?'

Trips like these are not something I do often so my perspective is limited, but for what it's worth, the memory of visiting this restaurant, inn, and town, is something I will treasure always.

My one critique: avoid the salmon and herring appetizer. I'm sure it has historical significance but it was essentially a crock pot just chock full of raw-seeming fish floating in olive oil. Like, literally twenty pieces of fish... For an appetizer... don't do it. Everything else was outstanding.... I'm done now...

It's interesting but the entrance to visit the room of Van Gogh is expensive (6€ per person). We wanted to visit it, so we entered even it's expensive for us😊

A Dream place for any admirer or fan of Van Gogh to go see the room Vincent spent the last seven months of his life in... but Beware they Absolutely Do Not allow you to photograph or video record the room for some reason.
