Our favorite restaurant on the trip. A must visit. The owner, Ingrid, is so sweet and kind. She was very helpful. We had the berry salad and the cheesecake. The cheesecake is a must! Ingrid make it. We loved the Loire beer too.

I've been looking at my photos on the one year anniversary of my vacation to France last year thinking how I never reviewed my favorite places. So here I am, one year later, and I have never forgotten this meal. It was the best meal I had during my three weeks in France--and that's saying a lot! The quiche, cold tomato soup, and salad, as well as the nougat ice cream with berry compote. I actually had tears in my eyes when I ate it. The atmosphere was so cute and sitting across the street from Leonardo da Vinci's house was surely the icing on the cake.

Make a reservation at this great spot, because this place fills up quickly. There is only seating for 20 and when you see the size of their kitchen, then you understand why. That being said we were super happy with the food, my husband, daughter and I had the plat du jour which was duck with prunes and cider, served with linguine, and salad. And the hot wine was amazing and perfect for a chilly October day. My daughter and I split the cafe gourmand which came with cheese cake, pumpkin cake, salted caramel pie and sweet semolina ( still not sure what this was, but it was light w a vanilla flavor). I’d recommend it to couples or families because they even had a kids meal. It’s right across from the entrance to Da Vinci’s museum so the location was perfect.

You must go here! They close at 2pm. This was the best meal of our trip! Ingrid, the owner had the best hospitality. The food had an amazing artistic presentation. The sangria, tea, cappuccino, espresso, and blonde beers were exquisite! The salads were exquisite! It’s right across the street from Château Clos Lucé, where Da Vinci lived.

This has to be one of my favorite meals ever! The salad was fresh and tasty and the lemon chicken special (plate of the day) was divine! The owners were so kind and patient with us as we tried to communicate between French and English.

This place is owned by a husband and wife who do everything themselves, from making your meal to bussing your table. She was so cheerful and kind, and the salad I had was perfection. It came with bread, chèvre, and fig jam, and that combination was just amazing. Everything was fresh and delicious!

Very friendly coupe who run the restaurant. The plat de jour had sold out when we arrived but the goats cheese (local) and charcuterie salads were excellent.

We stopped there quite tired and hot after walking from the train station to the Clos Lucé and an extensive outdoor visit of Da Vinci accomplissements. We has a surprisingly excellent lunch there, considering the size of the kitchen. I am a native Tourangelle and miss my goat cheese when I'm in Texas, so my goat cheese salad was a treat. We could not find a taxi to go back to the train station, so Ingrid's husband offered us a ride.
Thank you for the great memories. Mike, Jada and Annie Costello

Fantastic food with a very kind and helpful owner. This was by far our favorite place in Amboise. They have a wide range of teas thoughtfully arranged across the flavor palette.
