Amazing! The bar team were wonderful and so helpful recommending dishes and wine. The food was above expectations - definitely try the burrata and cheese dishes. If you’re looking for a cosy wine bar with a cute outdoor area and amazing service / food, don’t miss it.

Wow! Great wines, friendly service, attended to my terrible French speaking, and very good food. Treat yourself to a nice big steak! The young ones come to party and drink at night but a table in the cave is worth a meal.

Excellent food, really friendly staff, and most importantly, the wine was beautiful. They had a great selection and were really helpful, even though we couldn't speak French.

We drove passed Annecy several times and always thought we should experience the city. What a disappointment! While the old town is beautiful, it is difficult to appreciate it as it is so overcrowded.
Luckily we found La Cave and enjoyed a bit of authenticity!
Unpretentious and delicious “assiettes”, fantastic choice of wine in an out of the way location.
Highly recommended!

Excellent wine, excellent food, and amazing service from a team that clearly loves what they do. Everything we are tasted like it just came from the garden and the choice of wines available was impressive. But the best part by far was the service, pretty talented DJs as well once it gets past 23:00

I cannot speak to the outdoor, basement, bar, or 2nd floor dining areas, never having experienced them. So what’s left? The Black Hole of Calcutta off to the left of the bar where I and my three companions were treated to the wit and wisdom of the winsome 30-something owner of La Cave, Vincent. We had scored a win (in a charity raffle) of a week in Annecy which included separate chocolate, cheese, and wine experiences, and, as luck would have it, the latter was at La Cave. Having worked his way up the restaurant ladder from dishwasher to owner, he knew every aspect of it. Since a part of his apprenticeship was in Beaune, he was ideally placed to destroy my idealism regarding Hospice d’Beaune wine being uniformly excellent. (It depends on the generosity of Beaune’s vintners in donations to fund the hospital’s free clinic.) He abandoned us regularly, hopping like a mountain goat up and down the narrow stairs, doing the restaurant’s business, but he always returned with a fresh bottle of local interest or in response to a request, weaving a story in charming Franglaise of its merits. Vincent was a knowledgeable as your typical sommelier but without the pretense. Get him if you can. (By the way, ignore Google’s insistence that La Cave is closed certain days; it’s not true, and Vincent’s been unable to get them to correct it.)

Huge selection of wine and very knowledgeable English/French speaking staff. Also very good food! We had so much fun and ended up making friends with other people at the bar, drinking and singing with the staff as well! Really enjoyed the whole night.

Great wine bar with incredible selection. They also offer snacks such as a selection of cheeses from a local fromagerie, charcuterie, and other house made treats. The wine server spoke English quite well, so we were lucky to have his recommendations. It's a casual but very busy place, so don't expect fast paced service. Sit back, enjoy your wine, soak in the atmosphere, and this will become one of your favorites as it is ours!

I want to start off by giving massive praises to our server, Damien. I've never seen such professional behaviour and work ethic, while being so friendly, accommodating and smiling all the time. He was greeting guests, taking orders, cleaning and serving up to 15 tables at a time and we never felt neglected. I love to see people passionate about their job and this guy is just great. Only wished I had more time to talk to him about local wines. I sure hope his employer knows how lucky they are to have him.

We had a great night sampling some of the wines they offer by the glass. My only wish for improvement is that they would have an even wider selection by the glass, but this is really not a problem as there is a fair amount to explore already. But perhaps a bit more from Jura and Savoie by the glass?

The wines. Great selection of bottles and the prices are exceptional. By the glass or bottle they offer quality wines at a great rate. I found myself wishing I was there with more people so we could order a couple of bottles. French wines only, but all major regions covered (maybe not Alsace I think).

The food. Great menu. Short and with inviting choices of food to enjoy with wine. These people know what they are doing. We had a great roasted bone marrow with chorizo and the selection of cheeses and charcuterie. Both great, especially the marrow. The food is also priced very fairly.

Service. It was a busy Monday night. Probably because some of the other wine bars are closed on Mondays. But as I said, Damien handled things beautifully and while we had to wait a little while every now and then it was worth it just to watch him work. Well done again.

After having some overpriced and disappointing meals on our trip through Europe, this is the place that so far has impressed me the most. A definite must visit if you're into wine, good simple food and friendly service.

Bravo!

Wonderful selection of quality wines by the glass and bottle.
Passionate staff and an interesting food menu (which I didn't get to sample as I'd already eaten).
Only let down was the number. Very of smokers that were inescapable. Evem indoors, the smoke came through the windows.
Great for wine drinkers. Not so for wine tasters who want to sniff and slurp.
Note: if the entrance to the alley is closed on rue Pâquier, the other entrance on rue Vaugelas may still be open.

Lovely staff, very good wines and nice food. Staff is always ready to give advice about the wines. Location is also really nice, in a cute little alley.
