Nice church at the top and a refreshing stop to sit before returning.

There is a waterfall, but was completely dry when we were there.

Great view down onto the village, which is worth a walk around.

The path is stoned, but the stones are very shiny and can be a bit slippy, however there is a hand rail to assist for the majority of it.

A beautiful church on the side of the mountain which is worth the effort for the walk to its top.
Here you feel the spirituality of this place where you can reflect and observe the beauty of the nature.

I visited in March and it was a quiet and beautiful place. The star hanging from a high place is amazing. If you are planning to visit Verdong Gorge, I recommend you to visit it on your way. For your information, parking was not difficult in March, but I heard that parking is difficult during the peak season. Also, restaurants are closed during the off-season, so it's better to have a lunch somewhere else.

Even though it was very hard times to get this church from the grond, our family really had a great time to see fantastic and suprising landscapes. We took lots of pictures during the short time walking.

Picturesque small church on the top of the mountain in one of the most beautiful villages of France, Moustiers Sainte Marie.
It is known for its panoramic viewpoint, thus its not accessible at all except by the hiking trail.
The hiking trail is not that easy to find though, cause from the right bank of the river there are indications from the Caves of St Marie only, but actually it is the same path to the church as well.
From the left bank it’s easier since there are stairs right to the church. The trail continues even higher than the church for those who are good hikers, just keep in mind that it is quite steep, but definitely worth doing it. The view over the valley, Verdon river and the village itself is breathtaking.

Amazing village and view. Recommend to go to the highest view point (the yellow signed trail). It's about 30 min climbing up the mountain, but the view is amazing. I recommend to go all the way up to the top, until you see the lake on your right, amazing view!

One of the most amazing places in the south of France!

About 30 minutes of steps from the bottom and steps are little slippery so be careful. But this 30 minutes you will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the chapelle between two hills and village around it. Feom the top you can see lake sain croix as well.

I loved the pilgrimage walk up to the 1200yrs + old church. The views while walking up are exquisite and although there is a lot of steps it’s not too difficult. Take your time admiring and take some photos.
The church is very beautiful with such a peaceful ambiance, you can really feel something special in there.

Moustiers-Sainte-Marie it is a lovely corner of France, highly recommend to visit the village in late afternoon when the light is good. A lot of charming shops and restaurants.

It might take sometimes to walk up to the church, the road is quite slippy but it definitely worth to spent sometimes there. It’s a Amazing place !

The walk is pretty hard on hot days but totally worth it. Carefull for the slippery steps.

What a spectacular part of the world. The walk up to the chapel is exhilarating and a memory one will never forget. The town itself is beyond reproach. The locals are very special people.

Uncountable stairs, but not to be missed

Chapel is just one of many to wonder.
The whole area is a marvelous piece of gem.
I'd recommend keeping a couple of coins in case you need local minted China for exchange.

Nice climb to the top and beautiful view. Just wear good hiking shoes with grip because the rocks are slippery

15 minute hike up to this historic chapel with great views overlooking the town, there is another hidden grotto a few meters away, follow the signs.
