Parc naturel régional des Volcans d'Auvergne

Fabulous. The top of the world. Well, not really but that's how it feels when you have just cycled up it. 8 miles climb, but the trip down is a blast. And the views are breathtaking; it's like being in a light aircraft. Well worth a trip. Try not to take your car; there are too many up there and definitely don't take your camping car during prohibited hours.

Wonderful, resting and beautiful place in summer. Winters can be hard but are equally beautiful. Paragliding, hiking, rock riding, canyoning... Plenty to keep you busy if you want 😊

Good national park to go to. Didn't realize there are volcanoes in france but viola. Lots of terrain to see, decent climbs and descents, good forests.

Breath taking wild nature preserved peaceful and relaxing a must be place and just enjoy candidly.

It's beautiful. Just hang around and enjoy the scenery. Find a quiet layby and relax for a while. It's free and the best way to enjoy this part of France.

Puy mary

Great views. They are not the tallest, but you can so clearly see the chain and the domes at the top of each volcano, this is a great place for families to learn about volcanism, eat great regional food, and visit serene and not overly crowded places in nature.

Beautiful place if you love mountains and trekking. The panorama is splendid in this old volcanic area. Come in winter, and you can enjoy skying at the Lioran station.

Always a good stop for a coffee

A beautiful area of France, wild, original, unspoilt and superb cheese! We loved the dark skies, the calls of the rutting deer and the remote feeling yet accessible hiking.
