La Grange du Moulin child friendly gites

Thank you very much, we've had a really lovely stay at La Grange du Moulin. It's so lovely to come away to a place so well equipped for children. Our son has had the best time playing in the garden with all the toys, jumping in and out of the pool and meeting all the other children. We have lovely memories from the fabric painting and teddy bear picnic. Definitely one to return to in future years especially when baby number 2 has arrived and we can take full advantage of all the rose wine!

We had such a great holiday at La Grange de Moulin. Wendy and Chris have so much experience running family friendly holidays and provide everything you need, from toys, books and games to insider knowledge! Lovely garden, pool & activities and we all - grown ups and kids - could relax and make friends. Special place with a special atmosphere.

We had two wonderful sunny weeks at La Grange du Moulin in June this year. This was our second trip to La Grange and it didn't disappoint. The gites are equipped with everything you need but maintain a lovely rustic feel so you know you're in France. The garden, trampoline and pool are superb and our three year old daughter spent many an hour outside playing with new friends. The gites are well located with the coast, towns and family activities (zoo, monkey valley etc) all within an hours drive (perfect driving distance for child to have a much needed power nap!). Wendy, Chris, Benjamin and Thomas are perfect hosts.

This morning our daughter asked if we could go back to France - I certainly certainly hope so!

Once again we have enjoyed a fabulous time at La Grange du Moulin. Wonderful location and surroundings for kids and parents alike. Chris & Wendy have everything set up for a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The cottage was fabulously clean and welcoming. There is so much to do in the surrounding area as well as great spaces for the kids for stay at home days . It is a great set up for meeting new people and making new friends . a truly memorable holiday

We had a fantastic family holiday with our 4 and 1 year old. The gite was charming (and very well equipped) and the children's play area and pool perfect. Our girls loved playing with the other children and doing the craft activities and teddy picnic. We had a great day out at St Savinien. The kids loved the boating and inflatables. Thank-you for a lovely relaxing week.

Thank you so much to Wendy and Chris for a fantastic holiday. We've just returned from a lovely week staying in the Papillon cottage. The weather was fantastic and we took our son to the aquarium in La Rochelle, to the beach and to explore Saintes, Cognac and Saint-Jean-D'Angely. He loved playing in the pool and the garden with the other children and has come home utterly exhausted, which is always a good sign! The other families staying there were lovely too. We really enjoyed the weekly BBQ too but the highlight of the trip for us has to be the wine tasting with Chris, which we absolutely loved. The whole holiday was a pleasure from start to finish and we'll definitely think about coming back next year!

From the moment we arrived at la Grange du Moulin we felt at home. Wendy and Chris have thought of everything, which means we have been able to properly relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Our boys aged 5 and 3 have enjoyed making new friends and can’t get enough of the fantastic facilities. This and the number of activities on offer here, have meant we’ve not needed to venture far at all. There is so much to see and do within this region, we can’t wait to come back and discover more next year. We usually go away somewhere different, but this has been such a wonderful holiday, we’ve already gone ahead and booked for next year.

We are currently having a fabulous holiday here at Grange du moulin. Like the saying goes 'actions speak louder than words' so it's worth pointing out we've already booked to return next year (which will be our 4th year!). Our children aged 7,5 and 10months love it here, they have the freedom to explore! Each year we return, we discover new and wonderful places! Wendy and Chris are brilliant and have created something really special. We've made plenty of happy family memories and hope to make plenty more!

A wonderful week at la grange du moulin. Ideal for families staying in beautiful, quite countryside with activities for young children and 2 pools safely located beside the gites. We hope to return.

This was our first holiday with our 6mth old and I'm so glad we chose La Grange du Moulin. Wendy and Chris are amazing hosts and have thought of
everything. From the time we arrived we felt welcome and knew we'd made the right choice. The cottages are fully equipped with everything you need for
children of all ages plus more for us adults ! Lots to do around the area and we look forward to coming back. Would highly recommend.

We had a family rule, don’t return to same holiday destination. Wendy and Chris have now changed this!!

What a fantastic place for parents with young families.  Not only are their ample outside toys in the garden, but games, books and toys inside the gites for all ages.  You can borrow pretty much any children’s equipment you can imagine, whilst we drove, this would be a massive bonus if you were to fly to one of the nearby airports.

The ethos is Family, and they whilst they do grown up events, like vineyard walks or taste the terroir (local food, wine) this is done in a child inclusive manner. This allows you to relax and learn about the culture while the children play. Not once did we feel uncomfortable when attending to our children’s needs.  The social BBQ nights gave us the opportunity to meet other parents meaning after we put the children to bed we had friends to socialise and drink with all within a safe baby monitor distance.

The activities for the children were fantastic and we have come home with some T-shirts and ornaments that the kids love and we will probably keep as mementos forever. Unless something unfortunate happens to the technicoloured horse…You never know your luck!

We had another great 2wk stay in Papillon this time. The gite was great and became a mecca for the kids to meet up in or pass through
! Our two boys made lots of new friends and met up with friends from previous visits. We liked the central location of the gite overlooking the bbqs and the gardens. Chris and Wendy Blakeman have been wonderfully accommodating. The seafood bbq was legendary and very very sociable. Both boys loved Wendys balloon modelling skills at the teddy bears picnics but the highlight for them was the scuba diving experience (6yr old) and the t-shirt and pencil case painting (3yr old). We have really relaxed this year spending more time at the gites letting the kids play and swim for hours. If our kids are happy with their friends then we are happy ! Thank you Wendy and Chris
for helping to make another great holiday. See you again next year (our 6th year !)

We just spent another lovely week at La grange du Moulin . We have three boys aged 5 , 3 and 15 months and they all absolutely love this place! The garden is so safe that they can be given the freedom to run, play and explore with the other kids without us having to follow them around. From the seats outside our gite they were rarely out of sight and never out of earshot. The pool is gated and alarmed so we didn't have to worry about them wandering too close to it . As far as I'm concerned,happy kids equates to happy and relaxed parents!

The gites are well equipped with everything you need with small kids. Wendy will gladly provide anything extra you might need. There are shutters on the windows and as a result the kids always sleep in a bit later in the morning here. Probably also due to exhaustion from all the running and playing outside all day long.

There's lots to see and do in the area and there are fun activities for adults and children alike onsite during the week put on by the lovely hosts Wendy and Chris. The local food, wine and Pineau must be sampled while here. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend La Grange to anyone with small kids. I'm just sorry we didn't discover this little gem sooner!

We honestly can’t recommend it enough, it takes all the stress out of a holiday.
Travelling to France with a family of three children; four, two and six months.
From two heated pools, one specially designed for the little ones, to the fully equipped play gardens there is nothing they haven’t thought of.
The organised activities provide entertainment for the kids and a chance for the adults to chat over a drink.
Chris is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to all things wine, and he does a walk to the local vines. Wendy couldn’t be more helpful and sorted booking for activities and local restaurants.
We’ve been here for two weeks and don’t want to leave. There are so many local activities to choose from. We will definitely be back for more.

it is so relaxing here! parents can enjoy a glass of local wine whilst the children play happily in the safe enclosed garden. Wendy and Chris are great hosts and nothing is too much for them. They have great local knowledge and Wendy is great with the kids. chris' knowledge of wine is second to none . I couldn't recommend it highly enough 😊

We had a lovely stay in Horloge cottage. Wendy & Chris are so helpful and welcoming - whether it's booking restaurants for us or introducing us to the local Pineau ! There is so much freedom for the kids and that means less stress for us. A wonderful week in France !

Lovely place for the children, lots to do, owners very friendly, helpful and informative about the local area, especially about wines and cognac!
