SmooVie Grignothèque

Incredible vegetarian food, probably the best I ever had. Wonderful setting in Saint Leon sur Vezere, one of the most beautiful village in France. Great host and wonderful experience.

We contacted SmooVie Grignotheque to see if they would be willing and able to cater our small family wedding (15 people). Since our first contact, everything was better than we could have hoped for! Sabine was incredibly kind, thoughtful and easy to communicate with. We had several difficult allergies to accommodate for in addition to everything being vegan and Sabine and her team accepted this challenge with a smile.

The food we had on the wedding day was beyond our expectations. Our family is a mixture of vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores and everyone had something they tried that blew them away. From watermelon sushi, to tofu chicken, to the berry cheesecake, to the kefir drinks, everything was made to perfection in flavor, presentation and portions. We were worried we wouldn’t have enough food after seeing how much our group could consume and in the end, we had leftovers for the next day.

I cannot recommend SmooVie Grignotheque enough! We even had the chance to stop by the restaurant to speak with Sabine ahead of time and loved the meal we ordered and the setting of the garden in the sunshine. This would be a great place to stop if you’re passing through, staying in town, or floating down the river.

All three dishes we ordered (plates de jour, bowls) were great. Fresh, colourfully, right temperature, right amount of spices and more than delicious. Perfect service in a lovely place.

We had a perfect meal in this lovely restaurant. It’s hard to find fresh healthy food, but they have amazing options and wonderful service. We will definitely be back!

The water is brought in from a local spring and filtered. That is the level of commitment to quality and taste.

There is more seating in the garden. Come between 12-3 Thursday to Monday and most importantly, come hungry. I suggest skipping breakfast that day.

Be prepared to have your taste buds excited and thrilled.

Tried a couple of their burgers and they were fab! We were so excited to find a vegan restaurant in France, and this didn't disappoint. It's in a lovely arty riverside town. Prices very reasonable, staff very friendly and a nice courtyard to eat in. There's quite a variety of foods and a lovely homemade lemon drink.

Keep up the good work!

A wonderful place with a wonderful owner. The food is fresh, delicious and healthy without tasting like you are going to be hungry an hour later.
The cakes and desserts are lovely and the homemade bread used to make the sandwiches is delicious. I could eat the food here everyday.
This place made me feel warm inside and the food is made with love. We will return!

Absolutely love their falafel wrap and gourmet burger. Smoothies are delicious too. Highly recommend, especially for those looking to eat a clean and healthy plant-based meal.

'Take away' but you are welcome to have it in the beautiful garden. Food is just amazing though - best burger I've had in a long time, and their smoothies! I had green which includes avocado and kale and there's also red with rasperries etc - go here if you are anywhere near.

Incredibly nice owners! Very tasty and creative food, homemade and organic !!!! All things are recyclable. We came there for the first time three years ago and it inspired me to try out new things. We came back this year and it is simply an amazing place!!!

Excellent homemade vegan food, served outdoors in a picturesque courtyard. I'm not vegetarian, and I have to say the Gourmet Steak, made from mushrooms and seitan, was absolutely delicious.

This place is a complete surprise in the tiny French village of St Leon. Their small window opens into a world of vegetarian delights. James and Sabina have found their place in the world and gladly share it with you. Sabina is the innovative Austrian cook and James is a New York transplant who can give you the skinny on a range of items from the best hiking trails to the Tibetan teaching spots. Best falafel outside NY!

Délicieux burger Royal (vrai pain du boulanger) vegan et beaucoup de goûts, pommes de terres maison et crudités frais.

Mon amie s’est réconciliée avec la nourriture vegan avec le hot dog vegan avec saucisse de seitan.

J’ai pris un kéfir fait maison, le meilleur que j’ai jamais testé !
