Guantánamo Restaurante

We’ve been passing this roadside restaurant for some 20 years and finally we had dinner. I can’t recommend it highly enough. Super welcome, very, very traditional ambiance and menu. The food is honest, delicious and well priced. Did I mention the welcome?! Well it extends to the service. Every member of staff is delightful and so helpful. A place not to be missed, a delightful experience and a wonderful meal. Thanks to the amazing team there.

Great and extremely fast service! People there are being honest and authentic. Same you can say about the restaurant atmosphere. It's not a typical touristic place and I was very happy about that. Beside we really liked the food and left the place happy. Prices are also very fair.

Very nice Restaurant with lovely food. We visit them 2 times and we had 2 times great steak en cordon blue. Also the employees are very nice and take very good care of you.

We ate here tonight. Such a fabulous place, very traditional. Very attentive staff and nothing was impossible. We would highly recommend....

This friendly, family-run restaurant deserves all the stars, quality food, the most warmest of welcomes and good service with a cheeky smile. Fresh fish, beautiful steak dishes and lots of choice in a traditional environment. Always think that if the locals visit, it’s one worth trying too.

Gorgeous little roadside gem with amazing views of the mountains. I have been coming to this restaurant for 25 years and it’s classic Spanish charm has not changed at all. The food is lovely and staff so friendly. One of the best restaurants in Gran Canaria.

A hidden gem

Well it’s been 20+ years since I visited this restaurant, when I was a holiday rep for Thomson.
I used to visit a lot as it as one of the best in the area.
I am delighted to say, it is still great!!!
The Mexican Coffee is fun…. Do it!

Great restaurant. Lots of options on menu. Bustling atmosphere, including lots of local people. Helpful service, they called s taxi for us. Loved it here and good value too. You might need to reserve a table.

Amazing service. We let them know we were going out for a birthday dinner and they set the table with birthday decorations ahead of time. Excellent service and amazing food! Would definitely recommend

Shame I can't give Six Stars. The food was sooo good and soo much, it was really great and the people were so nice. We had the tapas for two as starter, it was really nice and could have been a main. For main the T bone was really great as well and really huge, at least for Dutch standards.

The ultimate food experience for miles around! I have to say the fillet of beef I had easily matched or surpassed any I've had in top restaurants anywhere.....

That's a hidden gem you can find to eat close to playa de Tauro! My partner and I went on a weekend there for lunch.

We were received with a small portion of freshly baked bread and home made garlic sauce. They were so good that whenever we had bread or any dippings we would remember that sauce. 😋

We had fish 🐠 and beef 🍖. They were served with a small portion of potatoes 🥔 and salad 🥗. Two well-served portions that could feed even three people.

If someone is looking for a place to eat in that neighborhood, I will certainly recommend Guantanamo restaurant.

Wow, what a great classic restaurant! We walked over via the rocks from playa del cura and knew we had found a gem from the happy sounds of a large birthday party of locals emanating from within. They were very busy but seated us right away, service fast, friendly and fun, the servers are pros. We had a couple glasses of wine and each had a steak. Very good value for the money, tender meat perfectly cooked in a simple dressing of garlic and parsley, with a large baked potato and steamed veg. Very wholesome and homey tasting. The whole experience was fun and felt very authentic, highly recommended, we will return.

A wonderful restaurant with some of the biggest portions I have ever seen. The price is pretty good too. Great service, but you should make an reservation, as they are quite popular.
