Sierra Nevada

Great ski area with all the terrain of a large alpine resort but none of the crowds. Well catered for all age groups and abilities and offers tremendous value for money. Easy drive from Malaga or Alicante for those popping out for a weekend ski

One of the few places you can snowboard in the morning and surf in the evening. Beautiful views, on a clear day you can sometimes see across the straight to Africa. It is by no means world class skiing/snowboarding, but the novelty of skiing in southern Spain with a view of another continent makes this something worth experiencing. Also, if you live in southern Spain your options for wintersports are limited. I have been to slopes around the world, from Italy to France to Austria to Colorado to Utah to Alaska and more. The trails here are limited and the snow is not great, but I still greatly enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend. If you're looking for world class skiing, look elsewhere. If you're looking to get your snow fix and can appreciate something different, this is definitely worth visiting.

If you are in Granda and enjoy a hike and nature then I encourage you to go. Find some sort of tour and go for it. We used "Granada: 4WD Safari of the Sierra Nevada" and they were totally amazing, catering and knowledgable.

I was here in december 2019, the place was incredible, cozy and beautiful. The activities offered its a skiing, drink hot drinks, sharing with my family, take amazing photos and appreciate the view. I woukd go back because i really enjoy my visit in here.

Words cannot define the beauty of the place. You have to be there to experience it

Amazing mountain views when driving up the mountain road (speedlimits 30-80 km/h). 4wheeldrive is best here. I visited the skiresort up on 2100 moh in September and it was a bit chilly when arrived at the alpine village up there. Had a great pizza at restaurant (the only one open this time of year). There's nothing much to discover in the empty and quiet village. Only wind sound in your ears. Best part of this trip was the sightseeing: valleys, lake, mountains. Recommend to visit if you stay in Granada, Eastern Costa del Sol or so. Happy to visit this once in a lifetime for sure. Bet that road up is icy and slipery during winter months. Needs some snack/water etc and time and good nervs to reach this place.

Great place for snowboarding and the weather is usually perfect for it. Not too cold and many days with clear skies. Not so expensive and nice diversity of people!

The southern most skiable station in Europe. It has a very beautiful scenery, great slopes and very often blue skies without any clouds. It is a very large resort. From La Laguna area, which seems like another resort within the main resort, on clear days you can see the Mediterranean sea. The are very few places to eat and drink on top of the mountain, and although it is more expensive than normal places in Granada, when we consider we are in a skiing resort, they are quite affordable. The are a lot of skiing schools, rental shops, bars and restaurants in the lower area by Pradollano. We recommend going during the week as there are less people and skiing becomes more enjoyable. During Xmas and New Year it can be a little more busy and you might experience cues in the lifts. Also when leaving the resort we suggest leaving a bit earlier or very late as there are 1000s of cars driving down the hill on a single road.
