Cortijo Jamaica

We spent Semana Santa at Cortijo Jamaica and had a great time. It is a dogs and kids paradise, and a great place to wind down. Only note is in case of long periods of rain (which was our case), the dirt road to access the place can get quite challenging if you don’t have a four wheel drive. Otherwise: totally recommendable to get away from the city and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Cortijo Jamaica is a super nice place to stay with the family. Me, my wife and two daughters (10 & 8 yrs old) stayed a week at an apartment in February 2020.

The location is super nice, completely off the grid, but with all stuff you need and want, including a nice pool!

The apartment, bathroom and kitchen we're very comfy and clean.

The hosts are a really really sweet people, with an adorable daughter.

When we stayed at Cortijo Jamaica, we chilled just outside of our apartment, went on a lot of nature hikes around the apartment, played with the neighbors dogs, visited a hippy market, went to the Alhambra and had a swim at the local beach. When in doubt, ask the hosts, they can give you plenty of tips on what to do.

We highly recommend a stay at this place!

Cortijo Jamaica is a delightful little paradise all year round.  Even in winter you get your dose of light and sun. The beautiful and cozy apartment with its terrace and swimming pool is super convenient. Besides that, the Cortijo is located at the foot of the mountain range Sierra Nevada and a few minutes drive from the Mediterranean Sea. I enjoyed the diversity of landscapes and therefore its very nice to go hiking in this area. And of course, Marijn, Femke, their daughter and the dogs are truly amazing hosts. I definitely come back. Love it!

This place is as special as to host! Great family! The casa is amazing!! So beautiful, you rarely see a house and places to stay like this. A lush with plants, clean and super hospitable! My daughters where playing at the pool all day!! Great beaches for snorkeling, Spanish life and food! I highly recommend Cortijo Jamaica!

I stayed in Cortijo Jamaica in October. What a tranquil place! This ancient villa was only recently refurbished, so everything in the apartment is brand new and super clean. The owners are very hospitable and helpful. I felt right at home! The area is stunning and the location of the villa is very convenient. You can visit quiet idyllic bays close by or go on some great hikes in the area. Granada and Malaga are only a short drive away. Well worth a visit. Highly recommended – especially if you’re looking for a peaceful and quiet getaway! I’ll go back there for sure.

Such a lovely and peaceful escape, surrounded by mountains and a close drive to the beach. This is a very special place that I will visit many times again. The hosts are beautiful people with big beautiful hearts. The land is magical and nothing beats the flower filled mountain trails I would walk everyday in total solitude. I will suggest this place to friends and family and I will be back !

On a remote Spanish coast, far from the nos and close to the beach at the same time, host,his family and their dogs are lovely, we made some freinds while there

Cortijo Jamaica is an oasis of peace, and is about a 10-minute drive from the coast through the valley. The accommodations are very tastefully decorated, and you lack nothing. You will be received as friends by your hosts which makes you feel at home immediately. You just don't want to leave here! Super place to relax, to hike, to practice yoga and to disconnect ...

A unique accommodation, located in a valley next to a dry riverbed “ramble” an adventure already getting there. Arriving there is a holiday location and a dream come true: flowers, birds, nature and peaceful tranquility. The appartement is lovely, has all necessary animaties and stylish. Although off the grid, the solar energy is doing its work! The place is clean and hosts Marijn and Femke are lovely. A lovely place to spend easily a week as there are lovely opportunities to walk, or explore the area (use of car or mountainbike is advised!). The famous village “Polopos” from the Dutch TV reality serie is nearby, but a big climb for those going on bike 😊.

Corijo Jamaica was by far my favorite place I stayed in Spain ..and all of Europe. The hosts are inspiring. the space is very clean, friendly and comfortable. i slept so well. I look forward to returning again. -not a robot

Awesome place

El sitio es como un sueño, precioso!!!! Los anfitriones super amables, buenas personas.. se puede hablar con ellos entre español e inglés porque están aprendiendo español pero muy muy bien. La casa está completa con muchas cositas en la cocina para hacerte de comer. Es maravilloso estar aquí!

Hele leuke plek om echt tot rust te komen.
Ver van alle hectiek bijna aan het einde van de ramblas.
Femke en Marijn zijn fijne mensen met een mooie uistraling.
We staan hier met de camper voor een langere periode om te helpen met allerlei klusjes.

MARAVILLOSO❤ Lugar perfecto. Casa tía es un alojamiento precioso y decorado con muchísimo gusto. Cama comodísima, todo genial. ¡La piscina genial también! Fuimos con nuestro perro y fue perfecto también para el, podía ir suelto y correr y jugar con los perros de Mario y Femi. Mario y Femi encantadores, atentos y con una energía muy bella, os enviamos un abrazo y os agradecemos mucho el trato recibido 🥰 Volveremos y lo recomendaremos.

Sitio precioso para desconectar unos días fuera del bullicio de la ciudad y el turismo. Vegetación, animalitos y relativamente cerca de toda la costa Granadina.
Inconveniente principal el camino, es de tierra y para llegar a él puedes ir por otros 10min más de camino de tierra o por rampas entre los invernaderos.
La casita estaba decorada y reformada con muy buen gusto, no faltaba nada para sentirte como en casa exceptuando dos cositas;
1. Televisión
2. Aire acondicionado (aunq fuera solo en comedor)
3. No se puede utilizar secador ni aparatos eléctricos de alta potencia.

La luz es por placas solares y obviamente no resistiría la potencia.
Hace bastante calor en las habitaciones, que con el ventilador de techo no acaba de solucionarse y más en plena Andalucía en verano.
Por lo demás, una familia encantadora, con unos perritos magníficos y con muchas ganas de hacerte pasar los días lo mejor posible.

Tuvimos un problema con el coche y Femke y Mario, los dueños, nos ayudaron muchísimo, tuvieron detalles increibles! Es un sitio fenomenal, tanto por la casa como por los anfitriones. Sus dos perros son adorables, muy educados y tranquilos. El entorno es precioso, entre montes pero muy cerca del mar. Y si os gustan las plantas, tienen una bonita colección de cactus y unas buganvillas de todos los colores preciosas. ideal para venir con tu perro, será feliz trotando por el campo.

El sitio es perfecto para la desconexión, idílico, un oasis entre las montañas, además muy cerca de la costa. El lugar muy bonito y pintoresco. Todo estaba muy bien y limpio. Sus dueños Mario y Femi, son unos anfitriones excelentes, siempre pendientes de atender y ayudar. Dreik el perro amigo, muy tranquilo y cariñoso, el amigo ideal para tu mascota.

Cortijo Jamaica is een superfijne plek! Een mooi appartement met goede keuken die van alle gemakken is voorzien. Kruiden, olie, koffie en thee staan voor je klaar. Mooie omgeving om te wandelen, echt even weg van alles! Heerlijk slapen en wakker worden met het geluid van de vogeltjes. Gastheer-en vrouw Marijn en Femke zijn de beste en zorgen dat je je echt welkom voelt. We waren er in januari, we komen zeker terug als naast de amandelbomen alles bloeit en groeit!

Heerlijke plek om te vertoeven. De weg er naar toe is wel een rambla. Voorzichtig rijden enjoy er rekening mee dat je auto vies wordt van het zand.

De kamer is ruim en van alle gemakken voorzien. Er is geen tv aanwezig wel gratis wifi.

Sanitair en douche zijn schoon en netjes.
