Palmetto

Just had pollo asado here. It was fantastic. Really moist and melt-in-the-mouth. The glaze was sweet - maybe honey? The fried potatoes and salad on the side were great too. It was sunny enough to sit outside and watch the day go by. Soy mucho contento!

This is the sort of place I always hope to come upon when travelling, but rarely find. Unpretentious in appearance but busy and a glance at people's plates showed why - great food ! We were pretty hungry so ordered 3 plates, spinach croquettes ( huge portion for a tapas, came with salad and some excellent roast potatoes) a very fresh house salad which contained a lot of tuna, and chicken tenders which took a while to arrive - probably because they were clearly home made from good quality chicken, coated in a slightly spicy cornmeal coating, very crispy fried and some chips. We did manage to eat most of this because it was so good but 2 plates would have been enough. What was remarkable was this feast was E30, including 2 sodt drinks. Service was very friendly despite our lack of Spanish, and it was lovely to watch the range of local people using the cafe from mums with young children to a police officer , its clearly a hub of this community.

Best restaurant in Gran Canaria! Very nice people, amazing food, low prices, fast service. Food that I was looking for. Space for everyone, local people are very lucky. All the best!

If you're looking for a filling meal, then you're in the right place. Beer was nicely chilled and the portions generous. They have an English menu.

Great busy spot in San Mateo with friendly staff and beautiful food... highly recommended.

We found this lovely restaurant almost by chance whilst on a road trip from the south of the island.
We have truly enjoyed the fantastic "burritos" (highly recommended!!!) and the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant, whilst looking through the windows at mountains outside.

Una cafetería restaurante justo enfrente del mercado agrícola de San Mateo con una buena y surtida carta para comer y desayunar. Tienen un magnífico menú diario a precios muy asequibles. Muy limpio, buen ambiente y personal muy atento.
