La Casa de Arriba

I stayed at La Casa de Arriba hosted by Natalie and Lucien for five days for a chance to relax and explore the island and was not disappointed! I chose to stay in the bottom room which was very comfortable and cool with the weather outside getting hotter. The views from sitting on the terrace are amazing, being able to see the sea from one direction and the highest points of the island from the other. The house is situated on the side of the valley with expansive views across the landscape so you can watch valley life slowly going by. The kitchen shared by the guests was very clean and well fitted with all the accessories I could want. Natalie and Lucien, who live in the adjoining property, were perfect hosts, offering assistance and advice with anything but also being unobtrusive, giving me the feeling of privacy which was very appreciated. There are some good walks from the house and very easy to wander to the local village 10 mins walk away, or fantastic scenery further afield either by car or local bus. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely try to come back.

I have owned a guesthouse and my own Airbnb holiday cottage for over 12 years, so I say this with more than a little experience.

The slice of heaven that Lucien and Natalie have created in this sleepy Gran Canarian valley is perhaps the best accommodation I can recall.

First of the all, the property is not just clean, it is surgically clean.
It is the epitome of spotlessness.

Secondly is it so comfortable. They have created 5 out door seating areas, all different and all to either enjoy the sun, shelter from it or rejoice it as it sets.

They have build this place themselves from the ruins of an old barn and the love shows. The finish is perfect, the quality of the fixtures is reassuring. The woodwork is a delight.

Rare for Gran Canaria they have found comfortable beds along with quality bedding.

The living room kitchen area is cosy and for me very welcome in the heat of the midday sun. The kitchen is well equipped with quality products.

A cup of tea watching the sunrise on the bedroom balcony was just bliss.

Lucian has created a book of his own walks in the area along with an App which will guide you step by step. Great idea.

You must go and stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Good WiFi and phone signal too.

Our final week on the island is at the plush 5 star Anfi resort, we so wish we were staying here.

This vacation home is one of the nicest I've ever been to. It's so tranquil and relaxing. We stayed in the big room upstairs, it was perfect, exceptionally clean and comfortable. Lucien and Nathalie were so welcoming and generous. They were on hand to help or answer any questions but also let us have free run of the house and grounds. I fell asleep in their beautiful hammock under an orange tree and an avocado tree. A magical trip, I cannot wait to go back. Thanks to both of you for your hospitality and good luck with the chicken run!!

Super cosy house, great location and panorama. Closed to nature, eggs and fruits come directly from the garden. Hosts are super nice, friendly and helpful. Lucien knows a lot about the island and can recommend trek itineraries as well as places to see/visit.
Had an unforgettable stay. Strongly recommend this place for family, group of friends and solo travelers.

We have travelled to stay here many times and never leave with less than an amazing experience. The decor, specification and attention to detail of Nathalie and Lucien's beautiful casa is beyond anything else in Gran Canaria. Both are so welcoming and are a fountain of knowledge of the island. Casa de Arriba is a great location for hiking and exploring the island. Teror is the heart of Canarian culture so here is the ideal place to stay.
Sun terrace, chicken coop for the most AMAZING free range, organic eggs, stunning patio to eat under the pergola and grape vine. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Our stay was far too brief and we will return, knowing that we will find an interesting building, sympathetically adapted to its new use; comfortable and well-equipped rooms; a pretty terrace with views to the sea and to the top of the island. and, best of all, welcoming hosts whose knowledge of the island greatly increased our enjoyment. Thank you, Nathalie and Lucien, your high standards make La Casa de Arriba a fine place to stay.

We just returned from a wonderful 9 days spent at La Casa de Arriba. Everything was perfect ... the location, the welcome, the cleanliness and attention to detail. Lucien and Nathalie were really friendly and gave us lots of tips and information.

It's the best place to stay in the whole Gran Canaria - traditional, at the same time stylish, modern and practical. The owners are friendly, generous and very helpful. They give you excellent tips for everything - food, drinks, hikes, scenic drives, beaches or shopping centres - everything really.
It was our second time there and definitely not the last.

It is one of the best accommodation we've ever had. Lovely place with great atmosphere. You get there all the comfort - the rooms are very clean and neat. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Sin duda el mejor lugar para disfrutar de unos días o temporada en la zona norte de Gran Canaria. El paraje es sencillamente espectacular. La casa está completamente renovada con una arquitectura moderna completamente mimetizada con las tradiciones canarias. Sus 3 habitaciones son amplias con camas súper cómodas, baños nuevos, todo lo necesario en toallas y sábanas. El salón cocina está cuidado al más mínimo detalle con bebida de bienvenida, especias, aceite, gestión de reciclaje,… El patio es de ensueño para pasar las tardes noche con la mayor tranquilidad. Por último Lucien y Nathalie son unos anfitriones sin igual. Nos dejaron unos huevos buenísimos de las gallinas free range, ayudaron con rutas, nos facilitaron la barbacoa y siempre estaban atentos. Sin duda un joya. Volveremos.

Un alojamiento espectacular en un rincón de ensueño. Fuimos con la familia y los niños pequeños y no pudimos ser más felices. La casa está perfecta, hasta el más mínimo detalle y los anfitriones súper amables y pendientes - Hasta huevos de sus gallinas y frutas de sus árboles nos dieron! Volveremos 😀

Mi familia y yo es la segunda vez que estamos en este alojamiento y no será la última.

La casa es una maravilla…no se puede explicar con palabras la tranquilidad y la paz que desprende el lugar. Es perfecta para desconectar y relajarse. La casa está totalmente equipada y no le falta detalle. Lucien y Nathalie son unos SUPERANFITRIONES, han cuidado todo los detalles y se nota el amor y el cariño que han puesto en esta casa. Son un encanto.

Por supuesto, 100% recomendable. Es un lujo estar en este maravilloso lugar.

Nous avons passé une magnifique semaine à la Casa de Arriba! L’hébergement est parfait, au calme, avec une belle vue depuis la terrasse. Tout y est fait avec grand soin! Lucien est un hôte généreux et impliqué avec plein de supers conseils pour des randonnées et visites sur l’île!

***We spent one of the best weekends of our lives. We have travelled around the world and met many hosts and we can definetly say that Lucien and Nathalie are the best. They are a lovely couple, friendly and always trying to help us.

We have no words to describe the house "La Casa de Arriba". It's much better than what we imagined from the photos. Wonderful athmosphere, nice weather, beautiful house and perfect location to forget all your problems and have a nice stay.

Super endroit! Propre, bien décoré! Le propriétaire habite à côté et est toujours prêt à vous rendre service ou donner des conseils sur les randonnées ou visites alentour! Séjour en famille avec enfants en bas âge, tout le matériel était à disposition dans la maison!
