El Café de las Monjas

We got one of the only two tables in here, so that may change how we feel about this place. 2 pm on a Thursday and it was empty. We got two of each of the different mazapan, two waters, and a coffee from the self-serve machine. The coffee was only EUR 1:50, but it was terrible...far too sweet and I didn't ask for sugar. There were 7 total different mazapan each, and we feel that they pretty much all taste the same, so I would recommend getting just a couple each. They are good, so that's not the issue, it's just that 7 was too many! The server was lovely.

According to the tour guide, this is first non religious institution to make marzipan cakes commercially in Toledo. Marzipan cakes were exclusively made and sold by the nuns and this cafe uses the original recipes from the nuns. In Summary, it was absolutely delicious and I loved every bite of it. The cake is really sweet with a lovely texture. It was also quite filling and perfect as a snack. The staff were absolutely gorgeous and the atmosphere is pleasant. Do stop by this cafe if you are ever in Toledo!

Excellent coffee, confectionery and churros.

All served in a nice atmosphere with friendly service. We had the classic churros of course, to dip in thick chocolate sauce. The cakes were delicious as well. The Torta de Mazapán is a must have!

Here we ate a wonderful Masapan and Churros with Chocolate in a fresh morning. It was the right moment to do this as the cold atmosphere was asking for this kind of traditional desserts. The food was perfectly cooked and the personnel was really nice. It's now so crowded as other cafeterias in the area were the guides usually take the tour groups, so you get to enjoy this delicatessen in a quite and particular environment. We are coming back definitely when in Madrid again and referring this place to any one who tell us are visiting the Imperial capital.

Had a great experience here, had some churros and cafe con leche, the cafe was somewhat watered down, the churros were great. The ambiance was fantastic, very quaint, a lot of people. I would return.

An amazing place to have a bite and try the local mazepan. The toasted sandwich came in a sourdough bread and the violet gateau was very most, delicious and not overly sweet

Very nice cafe located next to Jewish quarter, only few tables so you might wait a bit before having one.
I strongly recommend the carrot or spinach cake (yes, yes!!!).

If you want delicious Churros with real hot chocolate this is the place. Coffee is also great. You can also get marzipan treats.
