Taberna El Picoteo

Delicious Tapas, fresh and fried. Very nice, fun Service with amazing wine recommendations. The decor inside is every typographic designer's dream with sign painting and the places outside on the street feel authentic. A restaurant away from the tourists is very refreshing for maspalomas!

Great tasting fresh and excellent quality tapas. Generous portions. Reasonably priced. Professional and friendly service. Lovely place - will be back and would not hesitate to recommend.

Our hotel directed us to this street for Tapas. There was a choice within a short distance. We picked here and so glad we did. Busy with locals and tourists like ourselves we were greeted by two servers. The menu is extensive however we chose tapas and were taken inside to view their offerings. The small plates started to arrive and we were not disappointed. Prawns and eel, liver, Canarian potatoes, ribs with honey sauce and sweet peppers stuffed with gambon. Accompanied with a bottle of dry white Spanish wine. Everything was very enjoyable. We even had room for desert and coffee. E didn't want to leave so had a night cap of gin and tonic. Our server was generous in helping up throughout our experience and we would love to revisit Taberna El Picoteo very soon.

Very nice small tapas bar/restaurant.. went there due to reviews here and was not disappointed at all. Nice waiter, great tapas (according to our taste).. we loved the datiles, the gambas al ajillo, verduras a la plancha, champinones al ajillo, pimientos al pardon, pan con alioli.. only few tables in the sidewalk, but always pretty busy so you might need luck to get a table.. but we can only recommend giving it a try! (Some pics don’t show the full portion we got, as we could not resist and started eating before taking the pictures )

Nice staff - speaks good English. Probably one of the best tapas in local area. Plus, the prices are very good 👍🏻

Perfect Tapas! Friendly & fast service. Fun to visit this area a nice walk away from beach hotels , this area has a more local feel to it .

Definitely one of the best restaurant experinces I’ve had in Canarias. Very friendly and super quick services, amazing food, really nice atmosphere in the place. All kinds of tasty tapas. Everything we tried were absolutely delicious. I will come back when I visit the next time! Definitely recommended.

Just GREAT overall!!
We were there as a group of seven - Grandparents, parents, my little sisters and I. This place is the definition of „something for everyone“, but the burger and fries (little sister was very happy) are nothing in comparison to the Tapas. If you plan to taste as much local food as possible this is your place! Best part: they have a really tasty vegetarian paella that even passed the taste test of meat-lover-dad. The staff is friendly, open for jokes and manages to do the impossible like getting Spanish food without garlic on the table. My favorite had enough garlic for two though - there can never be to much „potatoes with Mojo“.
A purse-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, local treasure with great waiters and great cooks!! Can only recommend.

This tapas bar is outstanding. It's off the local tourist trap and offers lots of local choice from the menu. Very friendly welcome and a great atmosphere. I will definitely be back here again.

Great food and very friendly and personal service. Sitting inside the restaurant was the best choice as it had a very local feel and the decor told the story of the restaurant. Food was a lot better than the bigger restaurants in the area. Will visit again.

Paella is well worth waiting for. Great place for authentic food at reasonable prices away from the massive tourist movement. Should go back and try some more of their food

We just asked for a recomandation and they put together a great tapas menue for us.

Came here for lunch. Unfortunately we were not that hungry as it was a bit early. Sat inside. Great old style rustic interior. Food, prices, service all good. Massive portions on full meals and it's a shame that the children didn't finish their meals as we ordered adult meals for them and should have taken the advice of the waiter to have one meal between the two of them.

Great value. Great tapas excellent desserts. Abuelas cake. Top service. Take a cab for 5€.it is worth it.

Excellent starters (be careful, don't fill your stomach with starters, there's much more).
Main dishes just gorgeous, perfect tapas, great tiramisu.
Will get back asap.
And not expensive - full set not above €20/person incl starter, main dish, dessert, one drink.

The food was delicious, you can choose from a wide range. The waiter was really kind and attentive, even though the place was quite busy. The service was quick and there are vegetarian options available as well.

Food is fantastic! Great selection of food varieties! We had different tapas with fish and meat! The location is not that great but for me it doesn't matter as the food us really great! And the place is almost always busy!
