Mercure San Sebastián Monte Igueldo

Nice hotel, quite old looking from outside, but nicely renovated inside. Big, stylish lobby. Rooms are also comfortable and nice, maybe bathrooms would need some refreshment. Spectacular views. Great place to start your adventures in Basque Country. From here everything is close, but it’s recommended to have a car because hotel is located on a mountain and it can be challenging to go up and down every time you want to go to the down town of San Sebastián.

Mine had a small balcony which was a bonus.
Coffee machine in the room is a bonus for me so very happy about that.

out over the bay and a great location for breakfast and I imaging even better for dinner with such a wonderful view.

Fantastic views over the bay. Fun park below the hotel, great big pool area. Food was nice with good variety. Funicular from the beach up to hotel was easy and cheap

The hotel offers an absolutely stunning view on the bay ! The staff was very welcoming and professional. The receptionist did our check-in really fast. The room was nice and the bed comfy. The rooms are a bit old but they are well maintained.
The tapas from the bar are really good and the portions are generous.
The breakfast offers many types of food. I was really pleased with the fruits section and the bread corner. I was however a bit disappointed with the ewe cheese and the serrano ham. Both were industrial and really bland. I've stayed in cheaper two stars hotels in France which offered real Ossau Iraty cheese and good quality serrano ham so that was a bit disappointing for a four stars hotel.
Overall, I was very pleased with my stay and the cheese and ham bit did not outweight the positive. I would 100% recommend this hotel to friends who want to discover San Sebastian

This hotel has the best views of San Sebastian, we where lucky yo get a room with balcony looking over La Concha and it was amazin to wake up with that view. All the hotel staf was great, we arrived without lugage and they where really helpful. Very confortable bed and soft and clean linens. Breakfast was pricey but worthy. The Loby and pool areas are refreshing, well decorate and modern but you can still feel the history of the building and dream about it. If you have kids you will love this hotel, there is a small carnival with roller voster and more games and attractions, and its quiet Charming Hotel I definetly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel with FANTASTIC view on the ocean and San Sebastian! Lobby looks like they could film the James Bond movie there. Rooms are ok. Bathrooms are in a bit old style.

This hotel is beautiful! It offers the best thinkable view over San Sebastián. Spectacular! We had a standard room which was nice and clean. The hotel offers probably the best pool area as well. What a view!!! Clean water, great service and food in the pool bar. The restaurant is a must when staying here. Amazing food and service. Our waitress had good recommendations regarding wine too. Free parking worth mentioning. We will definitely come back. Conclusion: just book it

Lovely hotel. Sits on top of the closest hilltop next to the city, with amazing views of both the sea, west coast, and San Sebastian. Staff is very professional and friendly. Yes, there is also one of the oldest still functional and maintained European theme parks around it. It is not annoying, rather cool. All the rides are for kids but breathe the old times, almost feels like a museum and young and old can have a good time. It closes early so isn’t annoying guests (unless they want to go to bed at 9pm - the negative reviews for this point offset this hotel incorrectly) Downpoints for being a bit dated, also the rooms, but it’s calced into the price. Kitchen quality was really good, the swimming pool is great. If we come back to San Sebastian we probably will just return. 5/5

Very nice hotel with a spectacular view. Not too far from the city, walking distance.

Amazing stay! Incredible panoramic view of the gorgeous San Sebastián! Super fun just next to the rollercoaster and attractions. There is the 16 bus just 9 min walk down the hill. Takes you to the very center of the city for €1.75 (you can pay by card! Amazing!) and the same to the hotel. Check schedules at the stops. Super convenient! We didn’t have to drive, specially when you know you will drink a lot of Txakolis!

Breakfast was delicious! Specially the roasted veggies and eggs. The staff was super nice and hard working! Plus that view!

Beautiful view, very special historical hotel on top of a mountain. Amazing views from the lobby, dining room and balconies. Rooms could be more clean and modern but nothing to complain. Good soft but firm beds. Options to have family rooms.

A good experience all around. This is mid/up market place, so not cheap. You get what you expect at thus level: spacious rooms and bathrooms, high-quality beds, very clean and modern. On top of that - totally spectacular views from the mountaintop. The bar serves many drinks but also a decent selection of food - and the main restaurant is very good (but opens only at 8:30pm, barely)

Very nice hotel, I love the room with balcony with wide view to the Atlantic Ocean 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. And there's a jogging / walking track also to the light house.
There is only one drawback, because the position of the hotel is on a hill so there is no grocery in the vicinity, so after you tour the beautiful city of San Sebastian and at night you want to return to hotel, you better stop by the grocery first to buy your needs.

Beautiful view. Nice bed and bathroom. Need to take a long walk or funicular or taxi to get in and out of town.
Nice outdoor pool was 74 degrees F with restaurant. No jacuzzi. Has workout room.

The best hotel I have stayed! Located on top of the Mt. Igueldo, it is easy accessible by car, public transport and yes, you can walk to the hotel up hill! The bar drinks here are strong, but some of the staff does not speak English. Breakfast is not free unless, unless it is included in your room rate. The rooms are comfortable, great ammenities and there is a business centre in the lobby with printers and desktops in case you need to print something. There is a bus on Alsa that will take you from the bus station in SS to Biarritz airport, Bilbao or Santander. The pool is on the rooftop but only opens in July.

Stayed here on a motorbike trip. New Years Eve. Make sure you have a city view room....2.5hrs of free fireworks. Amazing. The hotel was lovely. Straight out of a Carry Grant movie darling....I’d stay there again in a heart beat.

Beautiful hotel, very classy at an affordable price. The views are definitely worth it. Try and request a city view with the beach. Mind blowing. You won’t regret staying here.
