Cortijo del Fraile

A superb historical movie location and only 1.5km away from the tunnel used in Indiana Jones, so altogether a great hike from Rodalquila.
**Note no dogs seen at all, I'm sure the experience of them scared one of the other reviewers, but they have never been there when I've visited, which is several times. I'd say their experience was a one off. Make your mind up, but it would be a shame to miss seeing this place because of one person's experience.**

Ruins of Farmhouse of the Friar. Legendary place of many western movies. It's a pity, that it stop to be maintained and now it's becoming a ruin. It took me cca 10 min from Albaricoques on unpaved road to get there.

The roads getting there were very rough. They were probably more rough than normal due to the recent storm gota fria. It's a very interesting ruin, worth seeing. It's too bad that vandals have harmed it quite a bit.

Probably a Martian lookalike landscape, without the vegetation. The remoteness of the place gives a chilling experience. The road is countryside style, no pavement, few potholes.

Besides MiniHollywood, the Tabernas desert and Los Albaricoques ("Agua Caliente") one of the most important shooting locations for Leone's first westerns. If that is your reason you looked this up, you wanna make sure you will visit here. Although now badly detoriarated by the sun and the wind, it is still an absolutely captivating, powerful image, a true monument. Make sure you climb the fence and experience the ruins also from within...

Run down but still worth a visit. Accessable by walking, riding or car

Esta muy estropeado
Por el abandono, pero siempre es un placer estar donde se rodaron tan grandes películas y estuvieron tan grandes actores y directores.
Una grata sensación.

" El Cortijo del Fraile " esta situado en el Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata y esta declarado Bien de Interes Cultural.
Fundado en el siglo XVIII por una orden religiosa, paso mas tarde a manos privadas. Los hechos tragicos que ocurrieron aqui en 1928 ( el CRIMEN DE NIJAR ), fue inspiracion para Federico Garcia Lorca, que en 1931 escribio su genial obra " BODAS de SANGRE ".
Tambien ha sido escenario de algunas peliculas como " El Bueno, el Feo y El Malo ".
Yo estuve en Octubre del año 2022 y me encanto el lugar, a pesar de lo degradado que estaba. En mis fotos se puede comprobar como estaba parte de su interior.
Hoy por suerte esta en proceso de Restauracion.

El sitio es un espectáculo, imprescindible si estás viendo Albaricoques por razones cinematográficas. Aquí tuvo lugar el crimen de Níjar que inspiró obras literarias como bodas de sangre y se grabaron multitud de películas. Una pena que no se destine más dinero a su manutención para poder visitarlo bien por dentro.

Gracias al guarda y protección civil por dejarnos entrar.

La comida de este lugar tremenda, volveremos a repetir el plato estrella "Fraile a la toscana" especial del Spaghetti Western.

Volveremos a pasar la Noche Vieja aquí.

Imprescindible llamar para reservar.

Te llena de tristeza tal abandono de un lugar emblemático del cine dorado de los 60 y 70. Recomendable su visita. Esperemos verlo restaurado, aunque sea solo para mantener lo que supuso para Almería el cine "analogico" para la historia

A parte del sentido cinematográfico y dramático, bien porque ha sido escenario de rodajes de cine, y sucesos que originaron la obra de "bodas de sangre" de Lorca, es un punto para respirar aire puro y energía. Es una pena que no lo reformen porque debería ser bien de interés cultural

เราไม่สามารถเข้าไปชมด้านในได้เลย เพราะตัวอาการสามารถถล่มทลายให้ตลอดเวลา

เป็นสถานที่ที่ไปดูยาก ถนนเป็นลูกรังที่แสนขรุขระ
