We’ve been eyeing up Sukaldean for a couple months because of their Japanese/Basque fusion and when we finally visited they did not disappoint! The service is lovely and the sommelier excellent- you can tell they are gunning for a star. We were both blown away by the food. The crab maki tempura was by far our favourite. We will definitely be back!

Amazing place ! We had dinner in this restaurant twice .. and always left happy .. advise you to order meat … we also tried fish and it was amazing. .. and Japanese things are also yummy ;)

It’s absolutely worth it! We did the long menu, and it is uncompromising in its authenticity. If you’re shy about Basque cuisine, go a la carte. The opening “olive” and closing truffle wed whimsy, technique, and delicious joy.

Absolutely perfect dinner we had.
Despite dining in on the night of a public holiday and we booked at the last minute, they took their time and served us with a great care, they didn't neglected us for a minute and they didn't appear to be rushing around and acting busy to us, we had a great time with a great meal.

We wanted to eat a basque dinner and we were not sure what to order so I asked for their recommendation, then they selected the dishes perfectly. It started with a lot of entrees, mini sushis and a mashed potato ball (I assume), then fish soup, grilled turbot which is a locally famous fish.

The performance was also amazing, and thee service and care by the waiters were fabulous. I couldn't ask for more. We would love to go back if we have a chance and I recommend this place 100%.

I had nochevieja dinner at Sukaldean and it was perfect. Normally in other places I found a lower level and higher prices for New Year’s Eve dinner, but not here. Here the level was great for a reasonable price and a favourable value for money ratio. The night was perfect, with great atmosphere and excellent food. A particular mention to the staff: everyone extremely kind and professional. If San Sebastian is the temple of cocina vasca and a cousine with the highest standards in Spain, then Sukaldean Aitor Santamaria is definitely an unmissable place, where you can find the maximum expression of those values.

Sukaldean is out of this world. The food here is beyond amazing. Also, the sommelier suggests great wine pairings so don't hesitate to get their opinion. Make sure to reserve a table ahead of time as it gets booked up quite fast.

I usually take more photos of food but everything looked so delicious that we just ate right away.

This was by far our favorite restaurant we visited in San Sebastián (even after at eating at some of the top Michelin star restaurants here). The sushi was delicious. The steak was PERFECTLY COOKED.

The drinks and wine were perfect as well.

The price was reasonable. Great service. Great ambiance.

We had the longer tasting menu and it was incredible. Highly recommend the pairing with the wines...amazing value! Service was impeccable. Afterwards we went upstairs for a cocktail in the capilla to end the perfect evening. Can't remember enough for a special meal.

What an experience!! The restaurant is inviting and cosy, but with tables spaced apart enough that it doesn't feel crowded, also well ventilated. The food was simply divine, the service exemplary, English menu available and no problems explaining dishes if necessary. Loved it and can't wait to go back!!!!

Está todo bien: la comida de calidad, el servicio correcto y atento y el ambiente acogedor. Comida clásica con platos originales y un toque de fusión oriental... sabores agradables. Hay algún trampantojo interesante y divertido. Variada carta de vinos.

Sobre el local, teniendo en cuenta que todo el hotel es un antiguo convento, cabe destacar la cafeteria en la parte de arriba, es digna de ver.

En resumen, te encuentras a gusto mientras comes rico, qué mas pedir?
