Delicious basque cheesecake. Recommend sharing one between two as it’s quite rich!

burnt basque cheesecake has become internationally renowned over the last few years and when we walked past the loaf, we knew we had to try it in its original birthplace of San Sebastián. So so delicious and balanced. Creamy and moist without being over rich and a perfect crust. We still dream of it and will be back next we are in town. We could see that the baker was one of passion and dedication to perfection of the curated selection that they make :)

The cheesecake here is amazing. Very tender and moderately sweet, with proper crust. Although the coffee leaves much to be desired.

I had the tarta de queso Vasca and an oat latte - delicious. Highly recommend trying the Basque cheesecake. Highly recommend. Service was also very good.

I love this place. Down to earth, very good basque cake and amazing chocolate brownie. Coffee was extremely delicious and loved the service.

Wonderful staff with a wonderful array of baked goods. The brownie is a scrumptious and well portioned (we ate it fairly quickly so no picture). Great coffee and teas and atmosphere to take a break from the busy streets. We’ll be back tomorrow for breakfast to try their croissant sandwiches!

Good coffee an very good place for breakfast. Good bakery with the best whole wheat bread (also whole bread for takeaway). Absolutely delicious.

Anywhere I go I make sure to find the right spot for a good cup of coffee. Without a doubt, @theloafbakeries was it in San Sebastian! To top it off they also make amazing sourdough bread! #panderdad Eskerrik asko!!!

Well priced and good food. Don't know why people are saying the staff are rude here, they were nice to us. Maybe those people are just sad people

You cannot beat their flat white and lemon cake. Have been coming here for years and the staff is lovely. Also a great option for vegans.

Great location, great service and the best coffee I've had in Europe so far. As a Melbourne girl who's worked in cafes, I'm pretty fussy when it comes to my coffee. But we came here every morning. The staff are really nice and the brunch is great. It's also great value for money. Come back in the evening for their pizza and eat it sitting on the beach wall looking out over the beach.

Ordered a latté that was quite tasty and the loaf of bread was good too, still warm since I went before the rush.

One of the best Bakery cafes I have ever been. Love the curry wurst with crunchy bacon. Don't forget to go with the spicy tomato sauce! Grilled cheese sandwich is another highlight. Best sandwich in town!!!

The location is also great, right across from the beach.

after we sadly lost sakona coffee roasters to the pandemic, the loaf rose to the no. 1 spot (from a close 2nd, mind you) in specialty coffee. they have also very much improved their selection of munchies. so take your time and spend your coffee break here, you won't regret it.
