Tasca Bar La Dorotea

We read the good reviews so thought we would try it out. As we walked in, we wondered if the reviews were somewhat fake as to us it looked a bit run down insofar as it is very basic. So we thought we would get a drink and why not try a starter. Well we did and were so pleased. It was brilliant as well as well as the service. They explained all the dishes and gave recommendations and I even tried something new....cockles on chips... apparently something from the north. For starters we had the mixed plate of tapas from the Canaries which is made for 2. The food we had here was proper Spanish and I would definitely recommend it and definitely eat there again. Loved it. (And my photos don't do it justice).

Nice place with typical Canarian tapas, we tried a selection of tapas - it was delicious, especially cheese, try their grilled local cheese with honey - it is super yummy 🤤 the waiter was kind and explained every tapa for us 🥰 if you sit inside - you have a beautiful mountain view 👌🏼

Great restaurant in Tejeda. All local Canarian produce, had the fried cheese with honey, pork and salmon. Really delicious. Lovely wine. Very good prices.

Absolutely amazing service - the owner (?) enthusiastically introduced us to a wide selection of delicious local dishes. The interior might not be much to look at, but it more than makes up for it with the food.

The best dining experience we had in Gran Canaria. High quality ingredients, dishes were authentic and cooked perfectly, and the owner was a really nice guy and explained a lot about the origin of the dishes and let us try things like honey rum. Would definitely recommend here!

Quite possibly the best pork we've ever tasted in our lives, and the goats cheese with honey and banana wasn't half bad either, same for the salmon. Highly recommended.
