Fantastic history if very shocking. The only critical thing is that nothing is in English. They have a folder which is very informative but it distracts from the actual presentation. However, it's a very good and well planned out museum. If you have the chance go on the walking tour.

We love museums that transcend their message from local to ecumenical. It is hard to find them in Europe and I was really moved from our visit in Guernica Peace Museum.
The bombing of the city, the material, social and emotional turmoil serve as starting points to express something bigger: the value of peace inside out.

The museum is very well laid, guiding you towards a path of inner reflection.
Yes, I would have preferred to read the English commentary next to the exhibits rather than on the booklet I was given, but still, the English commentary was so beautifully written that I bought a copy to keep and re-read in the future.

Thought provoking and moving experience. The main static exhibits are not in English but we were provided with a book to follow along with which was beautifully written! I have to comment that it wasn’t just Google translated but beautifully written by an obviously talented professional translator. The interactive/audio/visual exhibits on the 1st floor have the option to self select language which I think a previous poster missed, so as a non native Spanish/Basque speaker there is no loss in impact. Highly recommended.

My family had a very touching experience in this museum. All of us came out of there with a better understanding of the history, and the testimonies from locals ( along with an immersive room that gives you a glimpse into what it was like to live in an apartment during that era) were very powerful indeed. This is not something that you should skip.

Extraordinarily moving and very thought provoking exhibits. The survivor testimonies will stay with us for ever. This is a very impor5museum, locally nationally and globally, for the truths it tells. Highly reccomend a visit if you are on the area.

Amazing exhibits and highly recommended. The panels are only in euskara and spanish. However the staff does a wonderful job in helping those that don’t speak those languages and provide helpful translations.

I learned so much about the atrocity that occurred here and also about what happened to the refugees escaping from the Nationalists. The booklet of translations into English that I borrowed was very comprehensive and I didn't miss out on anything. The staff were also helpful. An excellent museum!

Small museum but it gets to the point quickly. It gives the sense, not of bitterness towards the past but reconciliation and a wish of peace to the future. Very relevant to these days. A vision of learning to embrace respect to value differences and embrace all forms of engagement to prevent war.

Very thorough in presenting history of Gernika and the tragedy that occurred in 1936.

Well worth the visit. Basque and Spanish; beginning placards are clearly numbered and have translations in a book they hand you English. Later texts are not numbered and become difficult to follow. Five QR codes I tried presumably to get more detailed info all had failing URLs. Artifact and photo captions are not translated, and I'd really love to know what I’m looking at. Much of museum feels like an extended poem on peace, anti-pollution, etc. The historical meat is the smaller section and made my visit by contextualizing the city and displaying insightful artifacts. Clearly much love was put into the presentations, but I'm surprised if the aspiration is to be a modern museum attracting foreigners why English wouldn't be baked in everywhere. Temporary exhibition of cartoons from 1936-7 really well-curated, all with English captions, definitely worth checking out. Bummer all museums in city seem to close 2-4pm. That makes it awfully tough on a day trip. Still, worth the stop for the historical section if not the rhetoric.

Very interesting! The texts are all in Spanish and Basque, but if you ask when you buy your ticket they have books to lend you with everything in English.
Begonia's house was quite an experience, you sit in her lounge while she tells what happened on the day of the bombings. The sound is available in several languages including English. The special effects were very clever and chilling.
The staff were also very helpful.

Very interesting place. Worth to see. Unfortunately mankind doesn't learn from wars and mistakes. This museum will show you the cruelty of war. Very Very interesting.

I was impressed with the the museum’s description of the terror lived by those people in Guernica in 1937. And the message about the need for reconciliation to achieve piece.

With its one history of war/peace, the museum offers a great insight of what peace means. Human rights are key and be base for peace on earth and I every aspected is well explained. The guides are locals and really friendly/helpful and speak English, French Spanish and basque of course. Highly recommend a visit of the museum.

A moving experience. Hell is too good a place for the people who ordered the bombing and carried it out.
