I don’t speak Spanish, but I was very lucky to have Ruben there to help me get around. His English is excellent.

Their greenhouse store is out of this world. All the plants are flourishing and I had the best time shopping there. Many of what they have aren’t on the website, so I highly recommend going to the physical store to see everything.

They have a cactus siesta bed!

Such an amazing experience. It has a store inside and a beautiful garden outside. The entrance is free and every Saturday there's a free tour portrayed by Mercedes. It's really interesting and funny. I highly recommend a visit if you're looking for a different spot in Madrid.

Incredible place to shop for plants and also learn! Beautiful landscaping and impressive cacti to see, and a great shopping experience, learning about the different habitats of these plants, and specific instructions to take care of them. Staff is helpful and knowledgeable. It’s a bit far from Madrid but it’s worth the visit.

I visited the garden right before Christmas 2019, during a short travel to Madrid. We were able to attend the free talk by Mercedes on a cold Sunday morning. Despite the not-so-friendly weather, we enjoyed the three hours visit thouroughly. It was most interesting and entertaining, full of facts and anecdotes. Even my boyfriend, who doesn't particularly like plants, kept his attention during the whole time and enjoyed learning so many curious things. I don't know whether all visits are that long, but people were free to join and leave the group at any time (very helpful for families young children.) The site itself is beautiful, really pleasant to simply walk around, and the nursery is also very impressive and a dream for succulent-lovers. I particularly like the fact that they do research on several aspects regarding cultivation, propagation, etc.

Not living in Madrid, I recently placed my first order online and I am extremely happy with it. Both plants and tools arrived very quickly and perfectly packed -in a cute paper printed with interesting facts about xerophytes, perfect for gifts!-, with the cacti carefully wrapped in plastic film to avoid damage. I'm looking forward to moving to a bigger house with more space for my plants and I'd love to hire them to design the garden. Really nice project.

Besides the quality of the shop which is great I was impressed by the guided free tour of the botanic garden which was 1 hour plus and evidences the passion with which the place is run. It's a good place to bring kids too.

Desert City is a must visit in Madrid if you love plants and succulents. It is a particularly beautiful place to take photos as well!

We love this hidden treasure. Really happy to see it open again. Definitely worth a visit, make sure you buy a cactus. 🌵💚

Really nice place, with free guided tour every weekend from 11:00-14:00 . You'd be surprised from what you can learn about these plants

Sin duda el mejor sitio en Madrid para comprar cactus y suculentas! Tienen verdaderas joyas! Muchísima variedad de cactus y suculentas en diferentes tamaños y algunos muy raros y difíciles de conseguir en otros viveros. El personal te atiende con mucha amabilidad y paciencia. Y el jardín es espectacular y hacen visitas guiadas gratuitas los fines de semana por la mañana.

Toda una experiencia y también dispone de visitas guiadas. Ideal para cualquier persona y si os gustan los cactus y las suculentas recomendable al 100%.

El lugar es maravilloso, una pequeña jungla, un oasis chiquito, puedes imaginarte en una peli del antiguo Oeste. La explicación de Mercedes en la visita guiada fue excelente, una gran profesional y con grandes conocimientos. La tienda es un universo aparte, miles de especies concentradas al alcance de nuestras manos. ¡Volveremos el próximo verano!

Se le podría calificar como un jardín espectacular, aunque tambien tengan una tienda de venta de catus y suculentas. La visita guiada que hacen por el jardin es una maravilla, explican un sin fin de curiosidades, sus experiencias y conocimientos, lo que hace que la visita sea una especie de clase magistral. Hicimos la visita con Mercedes, una visita programada de 1 hora, pero como se le preguntaba y no tenía pereza, se explayó tanto que la visita duró 2 horas. Aún así se hizo cortísima. Qué lujo.
En la tienda la atención tambien es excelente, no dudan en explicar y aclarar todas las dudas que te surjan. Sin duda, el mejor lugar que conozco para aprender sobre el interesante mundo de las plantas Xerofíticas.

Recomendadísimo este paraíso de cactus y suculentas. La visita guiada es muy entretenida, con muchos consejos, datos, curiosidades y la posibilidad de ver unos ejemplares únicos y un paisajismo increíble.

Una mañana que ha merecido la pena. Realizamos la visita guiada y gratuita dirigida por Mercedes y ha sido todo un acierto. Aunque nos ha dedicado unas dos horas compartiendo sus conocimientos ,el extenso recorrido se nos hizo muy ameno e interesante.
Un punto a agradecer es que a pesar de vivir de la tienda en ningún momento te fuerzan a realizar ningún tipo de compra.
Aún así, si deseas realizar alguna compra , se agradece el interés que ponen todos los que allí trabajan para asesorarte en la mejor compra y cuidados de las plantas dedicándote el tiempo que necesites.
Otro punto a favor es el aparcamiento gratuito.
En mi opinión un lugar 5 estrellas en el que pasar una gran mañana.si te gustan las plantas.

Sorprendente, un planazo para maravillarte de la variedad de Cactus y Suculentas de la mano del guía Miguel (11-12 consultar) que consigue trasladarnos por el mundo y paisaje creado a capricho en este Oasiz y edificio unico en Europa. Todo gratis con talleres y vivero en el mismo edificio.
