KAIXO! I am eating my way through their menu. The plan is to go every morning and get one new item. I’ve been to Donostia a few times and always saw a line at this bakery. I regret not going sooner. Their menu may change throughout the week. If I remember to take a photo before I eat, I’ll add more to this review. So far I have had these items and they do not disappoint: Focaccia, Rye and Fig (centeno e higo), apricot pastry (hojaldre), muesli, pan de francais, hazelnut croissant (nueces), chocolate croissant…

This is simply the place to go for high quality bread in San Sebastián. They have an incredible selection including sourdough, multiple kinds of whole grains, organic loaves, classic baguettes, and more. I highly recommend the muesli loaf.

They also make amazing txokoki (pain au chocolat), walnut croissants, and a handful of other pastries.

There are no drinks and no seating — it’s take-out only for bread and pastry.

I’ve had many Pain Au Chocolats in my life and this is comfortably the best. Somehow a heavy but light pasty with melty, sweet and salty chocolate. 10/10

I learned about this bakery from a Michelin starred chef when I first moved to San Sebastián for school. Having tried every croissant in New York City for the past ten years prior, and various examples all across France, this is the best. They use flour from a stone mill in France. I love that I can taste the butter but it’s not greasy. The brioche and walnut croissants are also amazing specimens. As other reviewers have observed, there is usually always a queue outside and I find that to be a sign of goodness not a sign to complain. The line always moves so fast. Came across this bakery by chance on my last visit to Donostia and honestly their french style baguette is the best bread I’ve ever had in my life. It will be first on my list for my next visit!

Spectacular... walnut and chocolate pastries are top notch. Baguettes are inexpensive and delicious. Just have to pick up the accompanying coffee somewhere else, sadly ...

The last bite in Donostía was a sweet one. Had their sourdough bread the other day too and it was also fantastic.

I haven’t tried their bread, but the croissant with nuts was so fresh and delicious. 😋 plus it seems very popular, there’s always a queue when I pass by this place 👍🏻

These people make the best bread in town period. They don't bake, they create art: It shows that they love their craft. Seriously, its really really good. What drives me nuts is that they did not expand beyond Donostia. They opened many shops in Donostia, but none on other places. Please, we NEED your bread in Bilbao and Gernika-Lumo ASAP.

Excellent place for all breads

Staff are friendly. Some of them speak English so this place is expat-friendly. The apricot pie is the best pie I have ever eaten! Top bakery for sure. :)

Great bakery open early in the morning. The baguettes were sweet, fluffy and very good crust. Loved it!

Fantastic bakery. Gladly, they choose quality over variety. Only serve a few Baguettes and pastries, but all if them are unbelievably great.

Delicious breakfast pastries. Buzzy place packed with locals. Perfect for a quick bite on the beach.
