These windmills are really well preserved and the area surrounding them very well done. If I compare the visit to the windmills in Consuegra, this visit was more pleasant. There are several bars, cafés and souvenir shops right next to the windmills. We had a coffee and a snack while sitting and admiring the views. The parking area wasn't huge, but they are working on it...this area is in construction and when it is finished, it will be even better. Very good experience overall. If you can only visit one set of windmills on the Don Quijote trail, let it be Campo de Criptana. No tickets needed.

I went there on a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't crowded. The scenery was beautiful. The Cafe was more expensive than I thought.

Wonderful place to visit. Near is excellent michelin recommended restaurant. From this position you have best view on the city. And ofcourse you can enjoy in famous Don Quixote windmills. Visit is free, but some windmills are open where you can buy souvenirs or learn more about culture of the area and more about windmills.

Beautiful location with the best views of the city! These famous windmills have been featured in Don Quixote’s match scene so if you’re a fan of the book, a visit is worth it! It’s free to visit plus some windmills are open sometimes so you can go in and view the inside as well which is fantastic. There are gift shops and restaurants here as well so if you want some original Don Quixote gifts or food, this is a reasonable place to purchase them.

This truly is a magical place!
One of my favourite books ever, I discovered Don Quixote as a kid and have always loved the way Cervantes took us to that very place in his mind which he described in detail with the help of these ancient windmills.
I have been able to come to this place 6 times and could spend hours sitting next to them & simply taking it all in.
Best to enjoy a few hours before the sunset so you will enjoy breath taking views, that is unless you rather come early before the sunrise.

Las musas, a bar/ restaurant right by them offers good quality of food and drinks.

Difficult to reach, but if you can get there either by local train or rental car (our option), it's worth the visit. Nice to see small towns in Spain that aren't overrun by tourists and remain true to their own culture. The atmosphere is very calming, as there is almost nothing going on during the day, and the streets are empty. This also means that everything was closed for a couple of hours in the afternoon, presumably for a siesta.

The windmills themselves are magnificent and stand on top of a hill that has a good view of the rest of the town, as well as a landscape of distant mountains beyond.

Tourist Information center spoke little to no English, but were nice, and provided an interior tour of one of the windmills.

Not much else to do in the town except visit the windmills, but it's worth it for a few hours long day trip.

What a wonderful place to visit! The views from the top are breathtaking. There are a number of windmills with working machinery and a traditional house that are opened to visitors. Additionally, there is a gift shop and a few very nice places to eat.

We've been to both but if you are short on time, we think this is a very good option instead of Consuegra which is heavy on tourists.

The windmills route of la Mancha is must see especially if you are into Don Quixot.
The route has many places to see these majestic windmills evocative of Don Quixot and Sancho Panza. You will find the in all states of repair from ruins to completely restored.
The windmills at Campo the Criptana on the whole have been restored as monuments and a centre of culture and historical importance.
If you don't have time to do the whole windmills route get yourself here. You will not regret it.
The town itself is quite worth a visit in its own right and virtually untouched at first glance by any modernity.
La Mancha is a great part of Spain and should be explored
Enjoy
