Hotel la Mariposa

Really enjoyed our stay here in early January. It felt like we were staying in our friends hotel. Lucie, her family and the staff were all very friendly. The food was fantastic. We will be back.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at La Mariposa and we enjoyed it as much as the first. What makes the little hotel special is the service and the small family run style that operates there. This is not a 4* luxury hotel so don't go there expecting that but what you will find are honest hard working staff who go the full journey to make sure your stay there is comfortable and very welcome. Run by a newly appointed manager (Lucie) she will make you feel welcome and ensure your stay is as good as she can organise. Her sangria is legendary and the steaks that the chef (Tom) did for me each night were superb. The little pool though small is never crowded and the location in the mountains surrounded by the pine trees and beautiful scenery are gorgeous. Would I go back there ? Absolutely ....and we only stay down towards Mazarron but the break away in the mountains for cooler mountain air is always welcome.

Had menu del dia after river rafting on the Seguro. Wonderful lunch especially the veg curry and Indian rice perfectly served by Lucy and Baby Rio. Very lovely setting.

Our second time here, we love the traditional feel of the hotel!
It’s in a beautiful area with an offer of many sports activities to chose from, rooms are quirky and clean, beautiful food and wonderful owners on both occasions, most recent being July 23, can’t remember the name of our waiter but he was super accommodating and funny 😂Thanks for a lovely second visit!

We didn't stay at the hotel, only called in for drinks. The prices were very reasonable.The barman / waiter was very friendly. The hotel is in stunning surroundings but the roads are a little difficult in places.

A truly rustic and beautiful gem in amazing natural surroundings. The staff are extremely efficient and wonderfully friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food is amazing value for money and delicious to boot. I would give 5 stars for the food and service alone, never mind an amazing experience quad biking in the stunning surroundings and the opportunity to swim in the crystal clear natural lagoon. Thank you so much La Mariposa (this is now our second visit with hopefully many more to come in the future years)👍👍😊

We have taken our family to this venue for quad biking and lunches many times and once again not disappointed.
The location is great, the service is excellent (we went for lunch) and the food is good.
A mention for Tom and Nina especially as they make you feel welcome and always remember their customers..

I have been here numerous times with friends. We have done all the activities - which are brilliant. Stayed many times and enjoyed wonderful food. Superb service. I cannot say enough about this lovely place.

What a wonderful stay at La Mariposa. Nice, good sized, comfortable, clean and cosy rooms. Sam's food was delicious, 4 courses at each meal and all so tasty. The range of activities on offer are brilliant. We did the kayaking, quad biking, archery/shooting - we all had such fun and happy faces at the end. Mick and Mark who ran the activities were full of interesting local knowledge and very helpful/friendly. EO the host was so friendly and always available to serve drinks, answer any questions and join in with the fun. Thanks to Sam and EO for helping with the birthday surprises, it felt really special! Would definitely return.

Stayed here for 2 night's with my mum for a girly getaway as we don't see each other much as she lives in Spain. Such a beautiful place, very welcoming staff, gorgeous food which is very good value for money, it has quirky rooms but they are clean, comfortable and contain a fridge and coffee & tea. The quad biking was amazing! Had a swim in the lake whilst out and taking in the wonderful views. It is definitely somewhere we would visit again.

Did Quad biking from there as a surprise from my bro.Very realaxing drive up the steep drive And Mark is the most pleasant person you could meet.Mick the quad bike Guide is very clued up on the Area and History.

What a truly beautiful little place! Quad biking (€99 double bike) followed by an amazing lunch (€15 is taken off your bill when you do a quad tour). Gavin is the best tour guide/instructor, we’ll definitely be back to do his kayaking excursion. Lucie and Nina are the most friendly, bubbly people ever and make the vibe in the restaurant so chilled and amazing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone☀

I cannot rate this hotel highly enough, it's surroundings and location are perfect, but its the people and service that make it a great place to visit, be it for a meal or a stopover and drink's. You will not be disappointed.

Stayed here for a chill out time away and it did not disappoint, the food was all fresh made and also went down a treat.....they have rooms available for our parrot (in a travel cage) and the pooch all made very welcome...... as we endure a bit of the spanish wet days ( few days) rooms are cosy as is the bar and veranda areas for some chill out time .... and one least bit add on you arrive a guest and leave as added family

We spent 2 night this weekend in This hotel in Moroccan style suite. We’re very pleased with friendly staff. Special thanks to the owner chef Tom and waitress Lucy for making us feel welcome. The food in the restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced, good wine as well. We recommend this hotel for romantic or family getaway. We will definitely be back soon 👌👍

This is fantastic place to stay. Staff work really hard for you to enjoy the experience. Stayed overnight in a lovely clean room. Had menu del dia evening meal and breakfast. All perfect and very reasonable cost.

Just back from third visit - lovely place. Beautiful surroundings, excellent food, friendly and brilliant service. Also thanks to Gavin for very enjoyable quad bike and shooting combo adventures.
