FairCarRent Review for rental Sep 2023
For the past 25 years we have rented cars in several places in Spain at least once a year. Lately it has mostly been from Alicante. We have tried a number of different companies, but this was the first time we tried FairCarRent and it exceeded all of our expectations.
With other car rentals the biggest headache is to understand the insurance scheme. The most common insurance issues involves trying to understand what the various confusing options are, and then trying to determine (A) what is actually covered and (B) what is excluded, and (C) what is not mentioned at all. Another issue is possible dealing with up-sale of the insurance at pickup time.

None of the above insurance items applies to Fair-Rent, it is simply a non-issue.

Another positive item was the pick-up and drop off procedures.

With other companies you often have to wait in line for what seems like hours, see other customers that have paid extra to bypass the waiting line, and then go and find your car in a poorly lit garage where you try to take photos of all scratches. At return, there is mostly a long wait, and it appears the wait is artificial, to encourage you to leave without a damage free sign-off.

These issues does not apply to Fair-Rent either, it is simply a non-issue.

With FairCarRent, we just met with the supplier (in our case Top Gear Mobility) just outside the terminal on the departure level. Since all the paperwork was done before we left home, we just had to identify us (driver's license ,) and was given the keys to the car and were on our way in minutes. The drop off was just as easy. We just made a quick call 10 minutes before we reached the airport and again a member from Top Gear met us and retrieved the keys, and also unloaded our baggage.
We have been renting cars all over the world, and this was by far our best car rental experience.

A brilliant company in Alicante who discuss any questions which need answering immediately. Absolutely would recommend them as most of the other car hire companies don't have very good reviews. My son Jamie had a good experience with this company, when he came to visit us here in Spain.

We had rented a car for 10 days in Alicante. I can only say that the expectations were met. Delivery and return of the car went completely smoothly. Next time we will also rent a car from Faircarrent.

Car rental without issues. I got a brand new car with a 80% filled tank of petrol. The employee told me I could return it with the same level of petrol. I told him I didn't want any discussion when returning the car. He assured me it wouldn't be the case (they supposedly take a picture of the level on the dashboard). I returned the car and had indeed zero issues. Will book again. Frank Op de Beeck

We had a very good and positive experience with Faircarrent. We had a very nice, brand new car. Everything was organised very good, clear and fast communication via whatsapp to arrange the exact arrival time etc. The prices are very fair, not expensive at all!
Since me and my family will be going to Malaga several times a year and need a car, we will surely be booking again the next times.

Very smooth, reliable and flexible. Cars in good condition. No hidden fees, uncertainties whatsover. Our flight to Alicante was late and arriving basically in the middle of the night, but nevertheless the car was delivered to us in hand right after landing!

I was looking for cars for my trip to Tenerife at the end of December and all the cars from any other company were already rented out, there was literally no car available at all. I even called several car rental companies all over the island, nothing. Then, Fair Car Rent was recommended to me in a Facebook group. To say I was cautious of this car rental service would be an understatement. First of all, I am a cautious person and you always hear all sorts of traps tourists fall into. Second, this company seemed too good to be true. There were no cars available on the entire island (for a reasonable price), yet this company had cars available at a much lower price (less than half) of what some of the big companies offered. I just did not want to believe it. I messaged them on Facebook and even had a personal phone call with one of their employees. They were all very nice but I still wasn´t willing to believe this could actually be working out. With the trip coming closer I did end up booking with them. You book, pay in advance with your credit card, no deposit necessary. You get a confirmation email and that´s that.
We arrived on Tenerife, went straight to the parking lot (to the meeting point) where we called the phone number from the email. They sent their driver on their way. I also talked to an employee there who explained some details about the rental car, how to return it and checked our driving licenses. He needed our signatures and that was it. The car was a Hyundai i20 and it was super clean.
All in all, I had no problems with this company whatsoever, in fact they were all really nice. I would definitely use their services again and would also recommend them to others.

Definitely a different company. I rented a car last year in Tenerife and I was afraid because many of the rent a cars promise to set a closed price and then when the rental is over they charge you for insurance, additional driver, or any other method of cheating people. EVERYTHING was great because you rent a car from the web with a credit card and that is the only thing you are going to pay (fixed price).
This year I traveled to Mallorca and it was confirmed that it was the same way. The best thing is not having to wait in line at the airport stands. They send you to a meeting point at the airport, you go to the point and an operator sends you the location when you have landed. With this company you don't have to worry about what is not really important on a leisure trip.

Great service from start to finish, my quote was quick and easy, we got the keys in the airport as soon as we arrived & there was no worries when it came to driving the car as we were assured there wouldn’t be any extra fees, which is usually a dreaded horror when hiring cars, will be using again when I take my next holiday!
