Hotel Avenida

The best 3* hotel I’ve stayed in, should be 4* in my opinion. The room was huge, big comfortable bed and very clean and modern. They welcomed our two dogs with some treats. They also have a dedicated dog area outside which I’ve not seen in a hotel before - so nice to have! The staff are very friendly and in a good location. Plenty of parking too which is good. Will definitely return!

The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the beach, cafes and shops. The room is clean and modern with a spacious rain shower. There's free parking available, and also charging spots for EVs.

The biggest plus for us was that it's pet friendly (for an additional reasonable fee), the pet supplement includes a dog bed and a bowl :) There's a fridge in the room, which was great as we could keep our dog's wet food refrigerated.

One thing that could be improved is to have a bottle of water free of charge upon check-in.

Overall, great experience, a home away from home. We'll definitely return.

Beautiful rooms + view, everything was very clean, beds are great and the breakfast buffet was amazing. The free parking is perfect if you are on a stopover like me. The city center is a gorgeous 15min walk by the beach away and the prices for all of this are a great value. 10/10 would recommend!

Visited in August 2022. The room was OK for 3 people and a dog.

The staff were so kind and helpful. He tried to accommodate us by speaking all the languages he could. French, English and, of course; Spanish.

It had a swimming pool but we didn't use it because we arrived at night but we could walk around it. The night view was pretty. It had a small area for dogs which was cute and rare in hotels.

Very helpful and nice hotel staff, very dog friendly. We spent 1 very good night, quiet and enjoyed a nice and tasteful breakfast.

I am enjoying every moment here. So much to talk about the views...it is like seating on top of Donostia San-Sebastian. The view is Unparalleled. I'll post some pictures.

What a wonderful experience staying at Hotel Avenida a few days ago. Easy walking distance to the beach and points beyond. The staff were overwhelmingly friendly and they spoke English in case your Spanish or Basque was a bit rusty. I was able to sleep with the window wide open and never saw a fly or mosquito! The pool was quite nice and the breakfast was more than enough. Will definitely be back to San Sebastián as it was the highlight of my trip and when I do return I'll be booking a room here, but for longer. Highly recommend.

On a side note: Don't miss the free walking tours (in various languages). Just google 'free walking tours' and the city name and tours abound. At the end you pay what you think it was worth. Great way to spend a couple hours and quite educational. Enjoy

Have stayed here a few times and always very good. Helpful staff, clean, good breakfast and short walk to the beach. Bus stop to city centre is by the hostel just down the road and goes every 20’

Fantastic experience! Provided really great recommendations for restaurants (with printed maps included) and really helped me know the city really well. Room and services were great. Bike rental was really nice to have! Highly recommended!

With amazing views of the city and beaches, nicely updated rooms, free parking, and dog-friendly policies, this hotel was perfect for us! It is away from the hubub of Old Town, but an easy walk to beaches. The upscale residential neighborhood nearby has plenty of non-touristy restaurants and tapas spots. If you do want to walk to Old Town, the trip along the waterfront is thoroughly pleasant. We noticed that some reviewers complained that the hotel is up a hill - but it's a gentle slope and not that far to walk (and I'm no athlete!). We would absolutely stay here again!

We spent seven nights at the Hotel Avenida. Excellent staff throughout our stay, particularly Patxi Pagola on reception. He provided travel information and many useful suggestions during our stay. Breakfast staff always friendly, attentive and good selection of breakfast items. Cleanliness of the hotel was exemplary. Very comfortable bedroom and spacious bathroom, with very good daily housekeeping service. Plenty of free car parking space. Regular bus service into town although the walk to the beach was only ten minutes.

In summary, would fully recommend all aspects of this hotel.

Lovely hotel with warm and friendly staff. We booked two rooms for three nights in the middle of high season. Our room was bright and sunny with a big picture window looking out onto the city from high on the hill--it was a wonderful way to wake up every morning. The breakfast was a bit on the expensive side, but it is very convenient, fresh, and has a nice mix of traditional Spanish desayuno options while also catering to world travelers. The pool was a great place to have a nice chat with other guests, and the small size of the hotel sets a warm and friendly tone. The front desk was always helpful, even going above and beyond to help us negotiate a problem with our rental car company. It is very easy to get up and down the hill on foot or by bus, but interested travelers should know that it is a real hill. The location away from the central city areas also help keep it quieter. Other reviewers have mentioned that the walls are thin, but that was not a problem for us. Every once in a while a neighboring guest would make some noise, but it stayed quiet at night. It feels like a hotel for grown-ups. I hope I get the chance to stay there again.
