We had the best time here. The Iberian pork tasting menu was our favorite "starred" meal of the year-- by a mile! Everyone in the restaurant (including the staff) were having a pleasant afternoon. It was wonderful to see and made our experience even nicer. Sometimes at this level of restaurant it can feel like all the staff are scared and it makes me feel nervous also. The food was beautiful and truly incredible.

The hotel was also really nice. We were a little nervous about it since sometimes good restaurants neglect their rooms but their rooms are very comfortable. We had a great view of the courtyard and garden which was very calming. The windows are big but designed in a way which you have privacy.

The tasting breakfast was charming and we enjoyed the service there too.

I was concerned about getting into the old town but it turns out it was easier than i thought to get to the hotel. They ask that you call them when you arrive at plaza Santa Clara and they will tell you when you can drive up the 1 way street. After that, they park your car for you.

The most amazing, well orchestrated, delicious and generous experience of our lives in a restaurant. The wine cellar left us speechless. The service was top notch, the pace quite high but we don’t like waiting so it was appreciated. The chef and the owner came to our table multiple times and were genuinely caring. One of the best tables in the world, for sure.

It was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Everything was amazing, food, wine pairing, service, meeting the chef on our table, the welcoming tour around the bodega. We also enjoyed walking and staying in Caceres, a very lovely town.

Marvelous 3-star restaurant. The wine cellar is amazing. But I did not see Pingus or Screaming Eagle. Romanée Conti is amazing, but the most amazing is the Atrio’s Iberian Pork cuisine. The Iberian pork tartar was superb. I have never tasted this good pork cuisine. There are some dishes with Asian styles of cooking, which were also amazing. The wine pairing was amazing as well. It is the very best pork cuisine I have ever tried. The Atrio is the bona fide 3-star restaurant for sure, and it is the reason why you should visit Cáceres. The Chef Toño Perez was very enthusiastic and charismatic, so did his staffs, who provided excellent services.

This review is for both the hotel and restaurant. Atrio does not need my 5 star review but after our stay, I feel it is the proper thank you. The hotel is impeccable from it's gorgeous architecture to it's minimalist, spacious and comfortable rooms paying homage to the medieval town in which it resides. The restaurant experience was exceptional with perhaps the most creative tasting menu we have ever had. Mind blowing flavors combined in unthinkable ways from the chef, course after course. But what brings both experiences to both a Michelin and five star level is the service provided by the entire team at Atrio. From the moment we entered the hotel and were greeted by Carmina the manager until we left being personally thanked by all including Antonio the chef, I was in awe of the level of service provided. It was not at all pretentious but genuine, kind, detailed and best of all, anticipating our needs before we did. After 30 years of being in the restaurant hospitality business in Los Angeles, I am very observant and have high standards. Atrio exceeded them at every turn and I give the highest praise and thanks to the team for making our experience with you so memorable. Visit Caceres and enjoy the local town with so much vibrancy (bars!) and fun and stay and dine at Atrio.

About as good as you can get. 5 star hotel and 3 Michelin star restaurant. Amazing. I’d like to particularly highlight the pool.

Definitely worth the price. The food is amazing, the staff is super nice. Extra points for the owners coming to chat up with the clients and taking pictures with us.

Great restaurant. Fantastic dishes. Good wines and a friendly staff. For a 2 star Michelin they have a lot of tables. But the services is very fast. The iberico - caviar dish is outstanding

Atrio is surprising for a number of reasons - a two-star Michelin in the middle of a quiet neighborhood in a fairly minor town, a spectacular value for a two-star Michelin, a wine collection that has prized bottles going back to the 1940s, fairly-accessible in terms of reservations and availability, a feel that isn't absurdly pretentious.

The locals have mixed feelings about Atrio, as it is a tad incongruent with a town with a lot of miners and farmers, but I'm glad I didn't let that put me off too much from my lunch there. I went into Atrio thinking it would be a nice "once in a lifetime" visit - as I have most of the two-star Michelins I've visited - and instead came out of it expecting to return again on my annual trips to Spain. The fact I enjoyed this more than most of the restaurants I frequent in Madrid and that it's punching well above its weight in terms of the cost-to-value made me come away as a convert to the restaurant.

The locals who like it all think it's in the running for a third Michelin. I suggest you visit before then, as the price will undoubtedly go up at that point.

Service is top notch. Tasting menu was great with the exception of the oddly chosen mackerel. About 5/15 excellent dishes 6/15; very good; 3/15 good; and then....the mackerel.... Only thing is....at about 300 euro a person (with drinks) why must they charge for water....come on...just raise the tasting menu price 10 euro if you need to....but water....on principle....

Exceptionally creative, utilizing local ingredients, to deliver bold and particularly delicious flavors in an extensive tasting menu presented with very attentive and refined service. I personally think this is worthy of 3 Michelin stars.

This culinary experience is symoly on another level!
We went from New York to this restaurant and hotel, on a trip through Spain and Portugal, with the local company Heart Bike Tours and the whole family felt in love with Atrio’s cuisine (even the most skeptical). Our travel guides introduced us to Tońo, the Cheff who took a few minutes to show us the impressive winery and other special places

We had a spectacular dining event here. The food was superb as we merged the two menus combing Iberian pork delicacies with sea and partridge. The more than 15 dishes were inspired genius! We also had a fantastic tour of the amazing wine cellar which houses many rare and exceptional vintages. It was well worth arriving a few minutes early to see some of the more 38,000 bottles. The collection of Chateau d’Yquem is stunning.

The chef and staff were extremely friendly, helpful, sophisticated, highly knowledgeable and yet unpretentious. After dinner we took coffee in garden and marvelled at the architecture of the ‘new’ building.

Overall, a memorable evening that each of the four of agreed were among out top two or three dinners anywhere, ever.

A Michelin two star restaurant that surpasses some of the three star restaurants in San Francisco. Very much worth a trip!

We also started at the hotel. In spite of the historical building it's in, the hotel has quite modern architecture and spacious rooms. It was a pleasure to stay in such a nice setting in the heart of the old city of Cáceres.

What an amazing place, full of charm history and my oh my outstanding preparation and attention to the detail.
The menu was spotless the staff readiness and professionalism also.
The wine cellar “priceless” and chef’s Toño Pérez work and Kindness makes this one of my favorite places ever visited.

Very modern hotel in a very old town! So charming! We were given driving directions from our location in Spain which was super easy and after we checked in we were given a tour of their wine cellar. Had lunch in their 2 star Michelin restaurant.

Beautiful restaurant situated in the heart of Caceres. Driving to the restaurant in the evening is magical, getting off in front of a church built in the sixteenth century. Entering the restaurant gives one a sense of peaceful elegance. The head chef is consistently interacting with guests and is always surprising them with something off the menu as well. We took a flight of flavorful selections from the sea, and it was extraordinary and well paced. The portions are appropriately sized and each plate gives a “wow”. The entire experience can be quite personalized as Atrio only has 19 tables. It was also a pleasant break from very traditional Spanish food.

A wonderful experience in an interesting environment.
You have two options: from the sea, from the pork. Prices are from 155€ drinks not included. Pictures are of the sea menu. The area deserves a walk before our after your lunch. Enjoy

A truly spectacular dining experience, in a remarkably friendly, un-stuffy atmosphere. Like others, we were taken downstairs to admire the wine cellar, and then up to our table, where we were presented with the menu - actually, just 2 choices (Iberian pork, and sea/partridge). The kitchen was able to make several adjustments to the first (one of us isn't a seafood fan), and then proceeded to provide a steady stream of taste and sight delights. I can't think of a single dud. We opted for the wine pairings: 5 glasses each, sharing the first (a superb fino sherry), and the last (an equally nice madeira), which took a little getting across, but worked out perfectly. All were exceptional, save only for the pinot noir, which was merely Very Nice Indeed. At the end of the meal, we requested they wrap up the remaining petit fours - which they did, as well as providing a complete new set as well. We ran into the chef on the way out, and it's clear that his relaxed style is the source of the friendly ambience. An evening to remember.
