Amazing hostel in perfect location. I felt at home!

It's in a perfect location to go up the mountains, to the beach on the south or the city on the north of the island. There are bus stops nearby.
Friendly environment with super cool host! Thank you Rita!!

Clean and Well equipped Hostel. The Location is very good, there are many supermarkets, restaurants and bars nearby. Bus stops to explore the Island are only 4 min walk from the hostel. The WLAN is free and fast. Can absolutely recommend!

Lovely lovely place. Amazing hosts, so friendly and welcoming. And it was the most immaculately clean hostel I’ve ever stayed in! I felt I could eat off the floor it was so wonderfully clean. Could not fault this place. The outside space is brilliant as well. Comfy hammocks, clean etc

We had a great stay ! The staff is super friendly and reliable, we needed to book a taxi very early in the morning to go to the airport and we could coordinate with them via Whatsapp seamlessly. Neighborhood is very cute and room was clean. Highly recommend !

Very clean, bright and spacey Hostel. The owner Rita is very nice person, Wifi is super fast, plugs everywhere, Hammocks, big Kitchen, one big and one small bath.

Writing this review on the Canary Sun Hostel, while in the sky en route back to London - Not often people will go out there way to write a postitve review, but I was so happy with my experience start to finish, I would like to share!!

First impressions:

I was greeted by Rita (The owner) who gave me a warm welcome explaining the brief rules of the hostel, Rita then contiued to give me a good insight into Gran Canaria as a whole, highlighting some must see areas and attractions during my stay.

The facilities:

The facilities in Canary Sun are brilliant - can't complain!! The batheroom was cleaned every morning and kept clean thoughout the day same goes for the kitchen which was stocked with all the equipment you need to self cater!!

Location:

The location is good, Telde itself holds a lot of history and well worth a wonder. Buses are regular and affordable to get around the island.

Overall, would I stay again? YES - without any hesitation!!

wish i'd found this place sooner! first I stayed in some overcrowded hostals in Las Palmas, then overpriced hotels in the south, this new hostal wins in just about every way. It's one level of a beautiful old house with original tile floors, the heavy wooden doors and high ceilings, tastefully converted with only only a dozen or so beds in 3 big bedrooms, plus 2 in a private room. (other hostels would have tried to cram many more beds in!). Nice big kitchen, big well finished clean bathrooms (2), cosy living room away from the bedrooms, courtyard with tables and hammocks. Excellent! Can't fault.

Telde is near the airport and many nice beaches, near to las palmas and not too far from maspalomas, mogan etc and the centre, but it's a real place with historic centre, parks, cheaper better food and not full of tourists. 5 minutes walk from good shops, cafes and the bus stops but was super quiet at night. Not a party hostel, at least not when I was there... more a laid back getting away from hassle kind of place. I think it would be suitable for older guests as well as the usual younger hostel crowd.

Rita, the genuinely lovely owner/manager has experience working in high end hotels in England and it shows in the way she looks after her hostal! I wish her the best of luck this place deserves to be sold out, I will definitely go back next time i'm on the island!

One week holiday on Gran Canaria. First night: find a hostel not far from airport!
And then I ended up staying in Canary Sun Hostel all week !!
Why? Because Canary Sun Hostel is a very special place.
The atmosphere is friendly, loving and safe.
Mostly because of manager/host Rita who is very friendly, loving, helpful AND ultra professional.
Everything is in order and very well structured.
The whole hostel is v e r y clean, the impression is new and appealing.
You get your BASIC needs met very well.
Super WiFi !
Hungry? There are lots of cafeterias and shops in the streets just outside the Hostel.
Or go to the store, and prepare your own food in the nice kitchen.
Perfect basecamp for exploring the island by car or buses in all directions.
And all of this brings out the best version in all the guests... :-D
And on the last day, just a 4 minute walk to the local airport bus which brought me to the airport in 15 minutes for €1.45.

This place really was spotless though out. "And i am really not just saying this" Rita at the reception calm, polite and very informative on the local whereabouts. Would definitely recommend this place. It was like you are at home.

Muy buena relación calidad precio, es un hostal muy limpio y tranquilo. A destacar la terraza con sus hamacas y la atención de Rita.

Me he sentido en casa, si vuelvo por éstas tierras será mi primera opción.

Relación calidad/precio imbatible, habitaciones sencillas sin baño pero impecables en limpieza y orden.

Es un hostel que tiene todo lo necesario para estar agusto y bien. Muy limpio un lugar para volver. Lo mejor su dueña esa pasión y ganas por su trabajo. Su disfrute hacia una charla y para que conozcas cada rincon de Telde y de la isla. Te dara mas info que google y mucho mejor explicado. Mil gracias por esos días,cada consejo y recomendación. Sin duda tu hostel esta entre los mejores que he visitado a lo largo de mis viajes. Un diez enorme a no usar voluntarios

Super nett und hilfsbereit war Rita. Wir haben in der Küche gekocht und in Hof gegessen. Es war ein schöner Tag. Rita gab uns Informationen zur Stadt und half beim Wäsche waschen. Der Preis für die Wäsche von 5,- € ist völlig in Ordnung. Das wifi ist extrem schnell 😊

Rita l'hôtesse est adorable, le lieu est fonctionnelle, une cuisine avec tous ce qu'il faut, salle de bain avec baignoire, wifi, casier avec clef.
