Church of Torla

The origins of the Church of San Salvador are found in medieval times. But it was
not until the 16th century when it underwent an important enlargement due to the
strong growth of the population. Centuries later, after the Civil War (1936-39) the
Church was looted completely, and was redecorated with altarpieces from neighbouring churches.
Continuous conflicts that Torla had with the neighbouring French valley of Barèges for the control of the pasture lands forced the construction of a fortress that defended the town for many centuries. But numerous lootings and battles throughout history brought it to an end.
Today, there hardly remain a few vestiges where at present the Ethnological Museum is
located.

Impresionante paisaje, lugar de partida del sendero cola de caballo

Iglesia románica, muy restaurada. situada en uno de los lugares más bonitos de la entrada al parque nacional de Ordesa. Uno de los sitios más fotografiados de todo el Pirineo Aragonés.

Es muy bonita por fuera con vista explendidas, por dentro no llegamos a verla
