Nice area to visit. Guided tours do seem to be available but we missed one. Entry fee was very cheap.
Signage is in Spanish and English.
It is easily accessible with a nice 5km walk along the coast road from Alicante or you can get bus or tram to within a 5 minute walk

Unfortunately we arrived too late to have a guided tour but that gives us an excuse to go back. Fascinating site that I’m sure a guided tour would bring to life. From the road the site is not well signposted, and we approached via a steep hill/park, the entrance was at the top. Although there is a long zigzag path through the park, it is steep and would be hard work to go up unmotorised - see last photo.

The guided tour is very cheap and totally worth it, really brings the place to life. I was the only person who showed up on a Saturday so I had a personal tour for 3€! Also an active archeological site, so it is very cool to see that they are working on continuing to unearth more info. Also very pretty. Definitely a must see while in Alicante.

Nice largely roman archaeology site in the middle of high rise buildings. 3 euro entry and very well laid out with great information boards in Spanish and English. Well worth a visit if you have an interest in history or would just like to see the town that founded Alicante.

Beautiful area even if you're not interested in history.

Well preserved ruins with lots of information about the history of the buildings and location. Extremely cheap to enter and for a history nerd like me I enjoyed it a lot!

A must visit for Roman history enthusiasts. We loved walking around the ruins of this Roman city. Information boards dotted around in 3 languages and fascinating to see roman house layouts, a small basic mosaic, a town hall, full Roman baths and the replica bronze hand from a Roman statue. Very interesting to know it was a Muslim cemetery at one point too. For 3 Euros this is excellent value. Visit if you like history! The young man at the entrance was polite and helpful.

Make sure phone, camera and batteries are well charged with plenty of storage space.
The train/tram-lines 3&5 go around the Lucentum Archaeological site, so La Isleta, Lucentum & Albufereta stops are further away from the SE entrance, opposite the school.Albufereta appears closest, but only if you climb up the rocky path. Lucentum is the furthest from the site (1km). Walking from La Isleta along the promenade, then avenida La Condomina (towards Sergio Cardell on Line 5) is simpler.
It may be easier to take the 9, 21 or 22 bus near to Avenida La Condomina, and walk up the u-shaped (calle Dafne and/or) calle Diosa Tanit, to calle Zeus, alongside the school. Archaeological websites and signs often say open every day (except Mondays), but beware of local and public holidays, seasonal summer & winter hours, the siesta and varying Covid-19 restrictions.
The site has good, well presented excavations, signs, pictures, diagrams and descriptions.
The site is on a slope north to south, with ever-improving views as you go up, but there are more ramps and slopes than steps. The modern toilets are down some steps, but I am not sure if there is alternative access.

Enjoy a walk around an ancient walled Spanish town. Now mostly building foundation outlines but lots of clear explanation and description of the archaeology. As it's on a hillside there are some good views of Alicante and surroundings. Take a hat, there is not much shade to be had.

I've seen so many roman cities all around, but still found this one interesting to get a picture about this coast in roman times. Well described. Easy to reach with public buses. Seems there' s cafe in the summer.
I was on my own though now during the winter.

A fascinating roman ruin in the middle of the city of Alicante. This site allows the visitor to walk around and get a feel for how the Romans lived in this area of Spain when they conquered the country. If your lucky to be here when they put on concerts its a double bonus. Also, I discovered that there is a roman ruin at the nearby beach. It seems to be what remains of the docks that were once at this beachfront just a few minutes walk to Lucentum. The site is easily accessible by car or public transport. Its fascinating to stand in the middle of the site and look around at all the modern buildings which surround the museum and imagine what it must have been like at that period in history.

A surprise in the middle of the modern city of Alicante. The contrast betwenn the high modern and partially shabby houses and the wellconserved roman ruins is astonishing. Worth to visit and to stay for around 60 minutes.
