Hotel Atenea Port

Lovely hotel with lots of amenities. I've rated the rooms lower for a few reasons that are a personal annoyance as I travel a lot for work.
1. No mirror in normal light. (Near a window) So you can't do your make up or see yourself in the daylight to get ready.
2. No free water provided in the room. Only the mini bar which you have to pay for.
3. Shower no bath.

Location of the hotel excellent. Facilities in the hotel excellent. Wonderful balcony to look out over the port.
Great to have a charging point near the bed but was only on one side.
So although a good hotel room - a few things could be improved.

Perfect hotel in the perfect place, in March price was very good. Big minus - necessity of swimming pool reservation before (this information should be shared at reception when we arrive).

Randomly choose this hotel to stay when took my mom for vacation and don’t regret it at all, we even extended our stay there. Friendly and helpful staff, nice and clean rooms with a view to the port. Definitely worth it and I’ll be back :)

Staying away from downtown Barcelona was a great decision. This hotel is right at the Port of Mataro, about 30 minutes on a train from the core of the Barcelona. It paid off substantially. The hotel itself is very nice. The view is great and is right in the middle of a long ocean coast (that will probably take you all the way to France). It's a modern place, full of amenities, including a spa, a pool, and a ridiculous amount of food options around, from seafood to Italian, ice cream and whatnot. Going to Barcelona for day trips was very easy. We just had to walk 8 minutes to a train station (that is usually open until 1 am everyday). Staff was very helpful and efficient. The room was more than enough in size and looked brand-new.

Stayed 7 days.
Rooms very clean, facilities great, staff helpful & polite, great communication (although not all speak English they do what they can ie. Mobile google translate).

Breakfast very good (not massive choices, but what’s available is excellent).

Spa & massage treatments perfect; reasonably priced.
Pool very relaxing, gym is simple & nice.
Everything just same as photos.

Internet speed is sufficient (zoom conference calls all good).

Lots privacy, not noisy.

Highly recommend.

Great location if you want to be close to Barcelona but somewhere quiet. The tram takes 30 min to get to Barcelona and it's only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Has a good underground parking for the guest too.

Nice hotel with great amenities. Really nice restaurant offering a breakfast for (11 Euros) and dinner with typical Spanish dishes at a decent price (+/- 20 euros). Drink are about 5 euros.

The hotel is right at the train station and there are beautiful beaches close by. Mataró is a small town totally work visiting and exploring while you're here.

The hotel has a pool and outdoor patio bar which is beautiful and well maintained.

Bicycles and electric scooters are avail to rent in the lobby for about 15 euros.

Definitely returning to the gem.

The forniture is a bit old and not very practical, there is not to much space to store your things especially if you are going to stay for more than 3 days, but the beds are super comfortable.
The food in the restaurant is spectacular, dreamlike, delicious, all tasty. And the best service I found in years, friendly, cheerful, collaborators, they help you always, with a good sense of humor, thanks to them and their good service, our stay was excellent. I definitely recommend it!!!

At the end I needed to cancel my second night at 3:30pm and they only charged me a late check out and gave me the money back.

Beautiful hotel in Mataró in front of the harbor. Many bars and restaurants close to the hotel. Also a wide and long beach is just 5 min to walk. The rooms are very modern, pool and gym also there.

Nice clean hotel boasting large rooms Nice view of boats and dock. Cute town - very inexpensive. Drop complicated to get to from train you need to take underground tunnel to cross over. Would recommend. Breakfast little costly

Credit to the staff for running a very clean and friendly hotel. Breakfast service deserves a special note of credit.

Great location for quick access to the beach and not far from the station to get to other areas in Barcelona.

Our family of three stayed at the hotel for four days. Loved the location, room, pool, staff, breakfast. Everything in the room was clean and worked well.
One night we had the munchies right as the restaurant was closing. They made us a take away plate of fries on the spot.

Also, the Metro into Barcelona is just across the street.

I stayed in an apartment with my family. There were 4 of us. The apartment was perfect for us because we were a small family. We loved our stay in Spain and what made it better was hotel Atenea Port's friendly and helpful staff. The receptionists (especially Pol) were very helpful; They helped us with planning routes and where to go for buses and trains. The room cleaners and room service staff were very nice and friendly. They always said Hello and were ready to help anytime. Thank you so much for making our stay in Spain so wonderful and memorable. We would love to come here again and again.

The hotel has an amazing view from the terrace to the harbor and sea. The room is spacious, clean and good looking. The bathroom as well. Also, there is an amazing bar and pool. Simply love it! Enjoyable place, definitely plan to visit again. There is train station nearby and trains to Barcelona on each 15 minutes. From the hotel to the center of Barcelona is around 40 min. by train.

Great hotel for a good price. We enjoyed the clean and comfortable room and the staff is very friendly and professional. They serve great food and we especially enjoyed the spa treatments, they were excellent! (It is best to book spa treatments before you check in) We have had a great and relaxing weekend at this hotel and we hope to visit again soon.

To sum it up - a really great hotel! So let's have a look at the details:

Location, less than 5 minutes walk from the train to/from Barcelona and about 3 minutes from a great beach. A lot of restaurants nearby (though I lacked a supermarket). But couldn't be any better.

Rooms, decent spaced and very modern and clean and in good condition. Very efficient AC even when 35+ outside.

Facilities, superb swimming pool open until 9 every day. Is actually bigger than it looks (I would say 15x6 m). Nice bar next to the pool (no, it is not a pool bar). Decent WiFi. Separate pool towels are also included in the price.

Food, breakfast was great with plenty to choose from. The kids found plenty to choose from as well. Restaurant was surprisingly cheap for a hotel restaurant with very quick service. Except for one of the kid's pasta dish, the food was great.

Staff, very polite and spoke good English (and managed to understand my lousy Spanish).

Value for money, skyhigh! To quote the ex-governor of California: "I'll be back".

Stayed in this hotel for 7 nights, really good place, clean rooms, the staff was really friendly, around it there is many restaurants and bars, the beach is just 5 mins walk away, i would strongly reccomend this place!
