Bar Restaurante Manolo

We loved it here. Upon arrival, it doesn’t look 4/5 star so this could be improved. It does look quite dodgy, but this shouldn’t be off putting because the food and staff are great.

They have a set menu which you can choose from or a tapas menu and there is a lot of choose from.

I am gluten free but not celiac and I didn’t feel very confident so just got a salad, so most likely not for anyone with allergies but feel free to ask!

However the food itself was lovely. The salads were fresh, the service was quick and it is right on the river. The inside looked lovely too but tables were reserved… the tapas was gorgeous, even squid and chicken etc… was cooked perfectly and was only €3-4 each. So you could order quite a mixture between a few. We ordered like 9 dishes between 3 (including 2 bigger salads) and another ordered burger and chips which was perfect. The dishes are fairly priced and quite cheap but delicious!

What a find…! Innocuous looking bar from the outside but boy what lovely food on a quiet corner of Orihuela. We ordered the fish platter for four which was a generous portion, the soup with meatballs and a mixed salad. Highly recommended.

Dropped in for a late lunch. Ordered prawn croquettes, squid analusian, prawn and zucchini croquettes and chicken skewers. Really tasty. We were the only ones there and it was peaceful to sit outside. QR code show menu in English so you understand it. Waiter was nice even with language barrier

Lovely tapas restaurant set in a quiet local square. Great food at a very reasonable price and a good selection of drinks. Cozy atmosphere. Friendly and helpful staff.

Nice local bar close to the river. We really enjoyed their traditional tapas and cerveza. The staff were very accommodating as we were in a hurry.

We rested here during the Medieval weekend and enjoyed a relaxing drink.
Staff were very attentive, friendly and the venue was extremely welcoming.

Found this little gem a year ago on a trip to Ohihuela + now always eat there when we're nearby. Great food, have only been there lunchtime so mainly selections of tapas. Lovely wine + outside terrace beside the river. Friendly efficient staff. 5*

Great place by the river. We just had drinks but food looked amazing .

Simple, but well executed tapas/ raciones, I don’t think there is a menu del dia, but our food was well cooked, including excellent Gambas al ajillo.
The Tortilla had a good taste, but should be runny, which it was not unfortunately.
Very friendly service.
We will be back.

Ps. The Pelotas seemed very popular so I will try that next time, as well as the great looking desserts...

Update: now even better and more refined!

We discovered this place 2 years ago. Every time has been a pleasure, we take friends from the UK and they all agree with us. We normally share a number of delicious Tapas dishes. Great food, service is really good, great choice of wines, staff always willing to help with the wine list. Not managed to go back over the the last few months, but hopefully back in September, our first to go to. Interesting how it will be with what is going on currently.

Restuarante Manolo was very pleasant and relaxing. The atmosphere was good and the service was done with a smile .
This is the first time I have visited.

Lovely spot by the Segura River, very close to all the Heritage Sites in Orihuela. Staff managed to accomodate us on a busy lunch service despite not having a reservation. We had lunch on a hot day at 43 degrees under the cool shade of an olive tree. Delicious food, traditional with a twist, gnerous portions and very reasonably priced.

Possibly the best in orihuela, a relaxed atmosphere on the banks of the Segura. Great for food, drink and utterly magnificent for people watching.busy most days during lunch and later, its particularly busy on a Friday afternoon. Don't be scared to ask the waiters for help with the menu, and with drinks from across the peninsula. Enjoy.

Had some tapas and food to share, really authentic Spanish cuisine in excellent quality. The atmosphere and location are great as well, strongly recommend this place for anyone visiting orihuela
