A lovely hotel with something for everyone. Wheelchair access is fine. Rooms are spacious and the staff are wonderful. It is high above a beach and the walk is not practical for most. There is a free bus service and taxi's are €5-6 (Mar 24).

Clean rooms with everything you need. Service was brilliant, all staff at the hotel were fantastic, very professional, friendly and polite. Food and drinks were great, particularly enjoyed the breakfast menu. Deago and Kevin in the sports bar fantastic service, thank you.
Views from the balcony and all around the hotel are amazing.

We stayed here in February. First we had a "normal" room, but ended up moving to a suite. On the website it shows that both have approximate the same floor space, so I didn't expect much of a difference. However, the layout of the suite makes it seem much roomier and more modern. In addition, instead of having two separate beds pushed together, there is one big bed with a single mattress. Thus, the terrible "crack in the middle" doesn't exist. Also, the balcony is much bigger, a real plus.
I would also like to thank Oliver, who works at the reception and made our stay most enjoyable.
Finally, I can only recommend booking at the different restaurants (either on the app or at the reception - the morning of the night before). The Spainish night was very enjoyable and the Asian restaurant also plus.

This hotel is an excellent place for relaxation, sunbathing and complete recovery. If you are interested in exploring Gran Canaria, the hotel's reception is at your service with recommendations on top destinations and transport arrangements.

The food is of exceptional quality with daily variations. The possibility to book restaurants in the evening gives the family a pleasant time with outstanding food and impressive views.

Located on a mountain, the hotel offers a superior panorama from morning to evening. A free shuttle bus to and from the beach facilitates accessibility, and the proximity to the shopping center enables easy transportation by taxi.

Facilities are extensive and include daily programs and shows. With three swimming pools, one of which is for children, as well as the possibility of basketball and table tennis, there are a variety of leisure options.

Each room offers outstanding views, modern decor and comfortable beds.

In conclusion, this hotel is a first class destination for a sun holiday with the whole family. I wish to express my gratitude to Louis, Carlos and Michael for the outstanding service. I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future.

Loved everything about this hotel, the staff at the reception and the restaurants , everyone is very friendly and efficient. The cleanliness was good, and the buffet variety and taste was excellent. And of course the beautiful views of the ocean and the Amadores beach! Definitely recommend!

We stayed at the hotel Dec 30 - Jan 6. So, we were lucky to experience the beautiful Christmas decorations of the hotel and the great New Year's Eve party arranged by the hotel. At the gala dinner everyone had a pack of twelve grapes set on the table to be devoured one by one just before the turn of the year according to the local tradition.

The hotel (beautiful rooms, restaurant, terrace & bars all with breathtaking sea view, location, food, drinks, large pool area, parking - everything) and its staff were amazing - in the reception, restaurants, bars, cleaners - the whole team. Everyone was so friendly, helpful, professional, always greeted the hotel guests with a big smile, and everything you asked for was arranged immediately. The service was so kind and warm.

This was the first time we had an all inclusive accommodation ever. We doubted the quality of the food beforehand, but the worry was pointless. On the contrary, we wanted to return from our hiking trips in time to have also the hotel's great lunch, which we enjoyed on the restaurant's wonderful terrace. The buffets never ran out of anything, they were constantly filled and kept clean. It must be mentioned that the fresh juice selection at breakfast was impressive: nine different freshly squeezed juices were available. One extremely important thing was also taken seriously - there was plenty of hand sanitizer available everywhere in the restaurants and toilets.

We also paid attention to the good working atmosphere between the employees. They joked with each other, and on New Year's Day, when I saw the employees of the pool bar wishing each other a happy new year with a long hug, it seemed to come straight from the heart. In the morning when we went to breakfast laughter and singing could often be heard from the kitchen. I have never experienced anything like this in a big hotel like Riu Vistamar. The restaurant staff earned a standing ovation and cheers from the hotel guests at the New Year's Eve gala dinner, when both the kitchen and hall staff went around the restaurant hall and terrace in a queue.

We want to congratulate the hotel's management and encourage them to continue in the same way - to value and encourage their wonderful employees, so that they would be happy in their work at Riu Vistamar also in the future. The setting at Riu Vistamar was wonderful, but that alone is not enough. Your employees made our vacation memorable. "Happy employees ensure happy customers."

Our family of four adults enjoyed the hotel very much.
I had some reservations about the hotel after I read many reviews and because of our family experience of all inclusive resorts in other countries. However, or partly because of that, the hotel exceeded my expectations and delivered all that we needed and some more. The staff was friendly and helpful in every turn.
Food and drinks were good enough for the price. If you want better drinks, you need to go to five star hotel or you can simply buy what you like from stores and enjoy in your balcony. There was small variation on meals every day, and on Sunday breakfast cava was served. The theme restaurants were not overtly different from the main restaurant, only slightly quieter. Sushi was not the best, but there was other stuff to eat. We ate mostly at the hotel, except for couple day trip lunches and one dinner in Puerto Rico. We were well satisfied with the food in the hotel.
The entertainment was better than I expected, although it varied some and not everything was interesting for us. A downside was that the sound system was not tuned perfectly and could hurt ears and irritate at times. One thing we did not know beforehand was that every Friday there is a RIU party with free bus and entry. We arrived on Friday and were lucky to find seats. However, we were little tired from travelling all day, and soon wanted to go to bed.
Our rooms (451/2) faced the ocean and provided perfect sleep with no lights and only sound coming from the waves on shore. Also sunset was wonderful.
Pools were warm enough to swim, although could of been little warmer also. Sunbeds were plenty. Although I prepared myself to move some towels from beds reserved against the rules, we did not have to, because there was enough sunbeds to choose from anyway.
I enjoyed the gym early in the morning and the sunrise which opened from the gym glass wall.
The hotel is situated isolated on the hill cliff, which means both tranquility and steep climb. I walked from the mall to the hotel in 28 minutes (Google map suggested 45 mins), but I don't recommend it to everyone. A taxi is cheap ride.
We could definitely come back again. The hotel is clean and service is very nice, excellent.

Well organised with beautiful views hotel. I can admit the positive approach of personnel, they are always happy to help. We got a Grande Room with a sea view and I must say it is amazing, it has 180° of a seaview! There are 3 pools for adults and children with bars that serve drinks from 10:30 onwards.
They provide a shuttle bus to Amadores Beach with plenty of shops and restaurants around.
Food is Ok as for 4 star hotel, I would expect more seafood to be served. Asian restaurant nothing special, the only view was amazing.
Unlimited wine, beers and cocktails in bars all over hotel.
I got everything I wanted from my stay and I would definitely visit this or other hotels from Riu chain.

We visited in June 2023 and we were firstly blown away by the views the hotel had to offer. It was jaw dropping as it was situated on the top of a cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Our room was very spacious and clean - bed was comfortable and housekeeping ensured it was a good standard everyday they came. They also supplied bottled water everyday and put it in our mini fridge.

The food was average - nothing unique to write home about but it does the job. Plenty of choices and offering a wide variety of cuisines. However, I have to say the speciality restaurant was very underwhelming. You do need to book in advance (about 24-48 hours) so do get on that.

The staff there were all very friendly and welcoming - I have to say the entertainment team was the highlight of our stay. Night after night they worked tirelessly to put on stunning performances and musicals. They deserve a raise! They also ran day to day activities and all of them were so professional! They definitely got this one right.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this resort for families with kids, or couples on a romantic holiday as the views are stunning, it's very kids friendly.

We enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back!

Me and my partner have recently came back from RIU Vistamar, we have been before last year to mention. At first we was a bit worried due to the reviews of “”sickness”” HOWEVER, please do ignore, there was reviews last time about this and nothing happened to us, and nothing happened to us this holiday with this hotel, it’s such an amazing and clean hotel, the food is fresh, and you can just tell they put the effort in, I really don’t understand how people complain. We have always said it’s one of the best hotels. I haven’t heard anyone mention anything about sickness whilst we stayed, I think it’s just dramatic people, and I also think it’s down to dirty people not washing there hands before food and also just being unhygienic (ie; old people) the amount of people who I had heard having a number 2 and walking out the toilet without cleansing there hands is unbelievable, and also leaving dirty uno everywhere in the toilet, there very dirty people. But yeah, please just ignore all the negativity, and be clean, there is hand sanitizer dispensers issued all around areas of the hotel. So when you get the chance, please do just be clean and you’ll be fine. Just like any normal place. Your staying in a place where thousands of people come and go, you don’t know what people have, 1 person out of a thousand could have a sicknsss bug and just spread it around doesn’t mean it’s down to the hotel. It’s annoying when people just start blaming the hotel for the food, it’s not that. It’s either someone has brought it into the hotel, or your just a dirty unhygienic individual

Thanks hope this helps you all, please if your considering to book this hotel, please do so, don’t let other negative reviews put you off, I’m telling you this is an amazing hotel, lovely views, best entertainment/food

Astonishingly extensive and superbly laid out building in a fabulous location overlooking the sea.
Roor top pools and bars at several levels. Wide range of food selections at all meals.
Excellent entertainments venue and shows if that's your thing.

We are staying here now . The hotel is spotless. The staff are excellent very friendly and polite. Fabulous choice of food in the restaurants. Plenty of sunbeds. Fantastic views from the hotel. Only problem is all the spirits are local brands. And the cocktails are pre made and sweet. Apart from that I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Bring plenty of suncream.

Really great hotel, excellent service, amazing staff.and great food. Unfortunately at the top of a great big cliff so unless you are super fit it's a bus or taxi ride to Puerto Rico

Wonderful stay in this hotel, the food was amazing and the hotel was well kept and clean. All the staff were super helpful and the view from our balcony was incredible. It is a 25 minute steep walk into the village and to the beach and everywhere else you have to either get an expensive taxi to or a bus but this was easy to navigate.

A surprising find.

The hotel is modern, but getting another refurb this year.

Staff are friendly and service quick. Love the self service bars to grab a simple beer or soft drink.

The food is varied and good.

Views are amazing - head to the sports bar balcony for sundowners.

Only drawback is the Aircon - it's not great (which should be fixed in the refurb).

Easily the nicest hotel on the island. Staff where very friendly and welcoming, the cleaners where so good they had come and gone by the time you got back from breakfast and the room was spotless. Food was beautiful and it catered for every taste. Pool and sunbathing area was beautiful too and very clean. Bar staff are very friendly too. Overall it was a great experience!!

Stunning hotel ....
Set on top of a mountain ⛰
Food is absolutely out of this world fantastic choice.
The only thing in my opinion
'Lets this hotel down'
Is entertainment......its poor to say the least
And as located on top of a mountain you can only really excess beach and other places by calling cabs ......
But dont get me wrong its a Fantastic hotel for a really relaxing , romantic get away .

This is my 2nd visit and I loved it.
My room was newly decorated and super clean.
I would say that the food was good and very well presented however I noticed a difference in quality from the first and second visit which was over a very short period.

The entertainment was adequate but not fantastic the female singer was shocking in particular, the saxophone player was a close second.

All the staff are friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for me.

I have additional needs and mobility issues and I was treated with humility and respect........the facilities on this score are very good, tables near the buffet lifts to the pool and shop and carparking (which you have to pay for, although if you have a disabled badge there is a discount)
The lifts for the rooms however is a hit and miss affair with everyone else using so having a bit of patience is a must.

The Europa centre is a 15 min walk and taxis are available.
Free bus to the beach

Would I return for a 3rd visit...... Absolutely yes
