I arrived in the afternoon and was greeted at the gate by Mohamed, who offered tea in his beautiful garden befofe showing me my room. The place was tidy and the room was lovely, with a nice little balcony, air-conditioning & a private bathroom. Over the next two days, I met Mohamed's family, had wonderful breakfasts on their rooftop (wirh spectacular views of the pyramids of Abusir and the Step Pyramid, to the south!) and found the experience very homey. Be a bit careful if you go wandering because you'll quickly gain a gaggle of children asking for various things (mostly money) but they were nice enough & respected my wishes not to be grabbed at! Mohamed's son happily guided me through the village at a later point & it's a much better experience than going alone! Mohamed also organised a local driver, Abdul, who took me to all the sites at Saqqara, Meidum & Dashur and was very knowledgeable about the area & history. I learned a lot, met many people who live in Saqqara & enjoyed a family-run business & cosy atmosphere. Only two other things to note: you might want to bring earplugs, as there's a mosque almost next door and it is loud!) Also, don't expect cafes & restaurants here, as the area is very residential. But there are shops & a bustling main street for local food. I had a great time at the Sakkara Inn. Thank you for the memories, Mohamed & Family! Shukran tääni!

Really It is a perfect place to stay in sakara area. It is very relaxing, calming and quiet. The room was very pleasant, it was cozy and clean. Breakfast was excellent. Mohamed has always been friendly and incredibly helpful, really he is very kind and nice guy.
He arranged for me an excellent driver "sheref" who took us a tour around sakara and dahshur.
Overall I had a wonderful experience, and on my next stays, I will definitely check into sakara inn again.

The owner is very friendly and recommended a very good guide to drive us to the pyramids. He helped us get rid off mosquitoes in the room and knows the area. He did ask for a tip for the housekeeper which surprised us a bit but I guess that's the local culture.

Very nice place. If you want to get close to Saqqara and get nice prices for a driver to get you to the place and visit everything then you'll find the staff of this hotel super helpful. I have received the best service here, they guy Mohamed speaks perfect English, he lived in Holland so he also speaks Dutch and Arabic. You can tell him that Nick recommended haha, he will show you some secret places for a small price.

You can get amazing fish or chicken dinner for just a few dollars. Super tasty fish.

The view on the top of the hotel is amazing. Try the breakfast with the view of about 8 pyramids visible from the top.

The room looked clean, you have charging outlets next to the bed, clean bathroom, hot water and nice bed.

The only thing is that you would need to deal with mosquitoes in the night but you can have one of those devices that repell them.

Muhammad can drive you around, call a tuk tuk or taxi for you, he can get some tea or coffee for you for free.

Overall i recommend this place as the best one in Giza/Saqqarah area!

Nice rural setting near the pyramids of Saqqara and Abu Sir. Beautiful view of both from roof terrace. Basic, but clean rooms, garden courtyard - no traffic. Budget rates. Homecooked breakfast, careful service by the owner.
So this little hostel is also an ideal place to visit nearby Dahshur.
For it's remote location you have to tolerate some minor issues like varying waterpressure and yet no hotelsign outside.
