Have you ever ice skated in a forest? Well, in Soomaa you can! It's an amazing place to explore on ice. Make sure the ice is thick enough though and be ready for strong wind.

Beautiful, barren, wet, desolate - Soomaa is a land of contradictions, with a surprise around every corner. There are some wonderful tracks to hike along, and the bogs are truly otherworldly. It feels like the end of the world. Whether it's the wet season or the dry, a day at Soomaa is unforgettable, challenging and unique.

I kayaked down the river, which gave me time to contemplate the futility of my life. I really have thrown away every opportunity I've had for success and happiness.

We were here in December and you could still see snow on the ground. The road was icy and I mean ICY but it was worth it. If you like nature it’s really a beautiful park with many trails to follow.

We slept in Karuskose for two nights in July 2017. It was in the middle of a little paradise. The guided bog tour and our canoe beever tour we did, startet and ended in Karuskose too, next to our own little hut. We could do a bath into a natural bog pool, do a original smoke sauna together with our hosts, for free. In the river, we jumped in for cooling down after sauna, splashed a beever away, right next to us. Our hosts was very kind and gave us some fine insider tips. I guess we come back again when we have kids.

Soomaa has a lot to offer, either walking in bogs or canoeing on flooded river meadows during the so-called Fifth Season. Perfect place to take in the solitude.

Nature in its purest form.

Stunning nature and very good maintained hiking trails. Really worth a visit. When you are there also pay attention to all the different insects very interesting. We also saw many small lizards.

This place is bog heaven! It has numerous gigantic bogs. It has a number of campsites and some nice hiking trails. It's pretty easy to get to from Pärnu as a day trip. There was no entrance fee and the girls at the visitors center some great English and said it was get favorite Estonian Nation@/ Park!

Great hiking trails, wheelchair accessible, and even free camp sites to spend a night. There are toilets (can be a bit smelly) but no showers. At some places you can go swimming and other places you can make a fire and cook some food. Good for canoeing as well.

Excellent place to escape from the urban environment. Good walks, recently refurbished walkways in Riisa and all basic amenities. Turn off the road and allow time to stop.

Absolutely stunning National park. Best place to experience Estonian bogs. Best time to go is in summer so you can actually walk around. Spring and winter it’s usually flooded.

The park is big and good for a nice, 4-5 km walk. There is a shorter, special track for disabled people. I barely saw any trash.
