Beautiful art museum, even if it does not look like it from the outside :D Across from the parking lot there is a great restaurant and bar with great cocktails and food to enjoy outside with a great view of the sea! Great for site seeing with arts!

Nice small museum. Reasonable tickets price. Little hack: paintings not only in museum itself but also in the museum's restaurant!

Lovely place on the estonian seashore, beautiful views over the sea from the restaurant. Museum is quite unique, estonian artists. I came for the exhibition in the barrel gallery, themes sea. Definitely worth a visit. Nice day trip. Also possible staying in the museum hotel. But booking in advance is recommended.

In the little coastal village of Viinistu, you can visit an Art Museum located in an old cold storage of a fish processing plant.

Viinistu Art Museum displays works of hundreds of Estonian artists of various eras; this means about 1,000 Estonian works of art, starting from the Baltic-German era and Pallase school until today. The owner of the comprehensive art collection is Jaan Manitski.

Exhibitions alternating each month in the so-called barrel galleries converted from old water tanks offer plenty to enjoy.

Good to know: seasonally, theatre productions and concerts of different performers are also organized in the museum.

Absolutely amazing gallery! The quality of the collection is just unreal - Laikmaa, Köler, Wiiralt, Vint, Elken, Uutmaa etc etc - you`ll get an overview of the best Estonian art in this exquisite art museum. And the way everything is set up - just pleasing.

Great art gallery with many interesting pieces. The gallery is located kind of in a far away town, but has a wonderful view of the ocean. Also include a decentl restaurant and hotel rooms that over look the water and the island in the distance.

Great museum with very varied art. If you are lucky, you will meet Jaan Manitski, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Estonia, son of the city and initiator of this great museum.

Very interesting and unusual place. Museum located in ex fish factory building. Very nice and friendly owner, who told us about himself and museum history. Definitely recommend.

Paintings, mostly, given by a rich Estonian industrial guy named Manitski, which are of a very wide styles and mostly from the 19th century to know.
Various quality of paintings too.

My subjective opinion :
Do not consider this place as a classic museum : some displays are way too dense and your eye cannot really appreciate one particular piece of art among others. This is true for the main classic paintings .
For more contemporary, density is not a problem or even low depending the rooms. But the exhibition is displayed unconventionally anyway

Two things are remarkable:
-all artists that are exposed here are Estonian.
-the museum is actually an old fish plant factory and it makes very agreeable the way the paintings are displayed.

The more the room are exotic or strange, the more we have contemporary art with some paintings that grasp your attention, for sure.
Very good place to discover !!

The gallery is a little interesting, but honestly I think it was a bit expensive for a few artist to show
