I vote for this place that high, because it is a good view into the past If the development of the family itself. And some parts of economic at this time. The map of the area of the landlord in the Manor House is seldom to find. Visit the National Park visitors center before. Also interesting.

When we were here, the museum was closed and it was free to visit the territory (except buildings). Nice and atmospheric place with old trees, wild ducks on a pond.
Be aware not to hit your head in the cellar behind the pond!

▶ Palmse Manor is known as one of the most beautiful manors in Estonia.

The manor was first mentioned in 1510 as a nun monastery.

In later centuries it belonged to von der Pahlen family until the Estonian declaration of independence in 1919.

Manor was built in 1697 but it was made the way we see it nowadays in 18th century.
💥The house was badly destroyed during the Great northern war and restored in 1730

It has been renovated one more time in 1970-1980's.

Apart from the manor house, there are also several beautiful outhouses, such as a distillery, cafe, guesthouse, greenhouse and barn, as well as a great park with typical romantic pavilions and a beautiful pond.

👉 During high season entrence ticket for this museum is priced 9€ for adults. A bit high... however, definitely worth a visit.

Great historical place. Restoration could be nice, but overall it’s very nice. Big park, pond, manor, tourist information, hotel, etc.

Beautiful, and it being off-season, empty. Everything was in bloom.

Beautiful experience of how life used to be for some. The manor is preserved well. Some furniture items were from 1800s. Beautiful garden and surroundings. Highly recommend.

Very nice manor house. The grounds are beautiful, and there is a good tavern close by. There are two big greenhouses, a distillery, and a brewery as well.

Palmse, a trip to Estonia

During my exchange program to Estonia, we went to this beautiful mansion house. I loved it there! The Blacksmith is a very enthusiastic man that tells you interesting stories about his work.
The property that belongs to this building is quite large, so there is plenty to see. You get a good view of the families that used to live here and the history that goes along with them. Definitely worth a visit!

+ very nice place to visit. Especially the horse carriage ride
- in peak summer time they don't have enough drink options available at the cafe.(they ran out everything)

Beautiful barock castle (with stables, pavilions etc etc) surrounded by gardens and forrest in the Lahemaa national park. Nice indoors and great short hiking paths nearby.
I honestly liked this one way more than the bigger ones in the baltic states - it's more calm and there's nature nearby.

I would recommend you to go to the "breast Pavillon" as it is a stunning lookout point over the woods and lakes. The next must have seen part is the Smith in the castle gardens. He's a very kind man showing you his astonishing collection of arms from different time periods (no separate entrance fee, but a small tip is adequate).

Parking lot nearby, free of charge.

My favorite manor in Estonia. Gorgeous park, beautiful buildings, peaceful walking in the forest. In the main building works museum.
