Quite interesting place to see for a short break from a car ride. Caves in the sandstone used to consist of multiple passages to seven different rooms, but some rooms have collapsed now. The cave used to be called "hell" during old times. Passages were made by spring water, however, people have expanded them and used them for a refuge. As the passages are quite low, it is harder to see much inside. Personally, it seemed a bit scary to crawl :)

Pretty interesting caves where you can crawl in and move 30 meters or so. Make sure to go there with torch light and proper shoes. Can find quite many butterflies. No bats or other reptiles found.

My plan was to come here in summer but I just couldn't wait! It is an amazing quiet place for nature lovers and adventurers as myself.
The first thing I noticed was silence. Although the caves are located quite close to the highway, the minute you step into the forest/park, the noise disappears.
My hosts were a couple of deers; I also noticed some other animals signs on the snow 😁
I didn't have enough courage to explore the caves inside because I was alone, however, next time I'll take someone with me. Maybe the legend about the Devil inside scared me, I don't know.
Anyway, it is rather easy to get there: take a bus nr 80 from Tõrva or walk for ca 35 minutes from the city; if you come by car, there is a parking lot right next to the park with the caves.
Definitely recommend this place for visiting.

Take a torch or charged phone with you and go little bit more further, than only the 1st hall at the entrance. Unfortunately you can go only about 10m ahead and the rest of the caves are fallen in but still you gonna get small claustrophobic vibe in 2nd smaller hall and a hint what there was on it`s own time. If you anyway are nearby then go and visit the caves!

You will need to take a 5-minute walk to get to the caves. If you are willing to climb a little, make sure to check out the remains of the old Helme castle, too!
