Restaurante La Casa de la Trucha

Was here in 2001 and again in 2003. And I'm frankly irritated by others who say the prices were high. Maybe they were high compared to elsewhere in Ecuador, for pathetic cuisine. (Who goes to Ecuador for their cuisine, featuring a "mystery meat" surrounded by fries, rice, fried banana, and hominy???) But both times here, my experience was exquisite. On each visit, I had Trucha cordon bleu - trout, deboned, and stuffed with Swiss cheese and ham, lightly breaded and fried. The trout were in a tank, swimming around, until I placed my order. So very Anglo, but so incredibly delicious! And I paid less than $10 each time. A comparable meal in the U.S.A. easily would have been well over $50. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Excelente comida y lugar muy bonito pero falla un poco en la atención al cliente, ya que, esperamos 20 minutos para poder ser atendidos incluso cuando el restaurante se encontraba casi vacío.

Got 2 plates of chicken soup (with just a piece of chicken and half of potato in it). Got charged $10 (!!!) super expensive.
They don’t have the menu, so don’t make the same mistake- ask for price before ordering!

Para no ser injusto, la comida sabe bien el problema que tuve es el precio. Pedí dos sopas de pollo, me dieron una presa de pollo, media papa y me cobraron $10 en la cuenta. Pedí por un menú pero me dijeron que no tenían. Si van a comer aquí, asegúrese de preguntar por precios primero.
