The Mudhouse Hostel

Super cute hostel. I booked for two nights but extended for two more. The kitchen has everything you need and the beds are comfortable. Each bed also has a mosquito net which is very needed because there is alot of mosquitos around. I love the chill out area with the hammocks and yoga deck and spent most of my time there. The location is great, close to the beach and restaurants. The hosts are wonderful people and seem to really care about the guests. Thank you for the lovely stay!😊

We really loved our stay in Mudhouse hostel. Nout and Jolanda are so friendly and their 2 children are adorable. We felt completely at home here.
The rooms and common areas are clean.
Perfect to chill at Mudhouse after your surfsession and great to meet other people.

We were visiting Mompiche for a week to surf and we have stayed at Naud and Yolanda at the Mud house. This was by far the best decisicion we could have made! The hostal has a bar which is open almost everyday where both local and tourists/expats come to have a good time. Really nice atmosphere and the owners are really helpful. Great cabañas as well, good location and lovely village. Definitely recommend!

We loved the Mudhouse Hostel. Stayed here for 10 days and feel in love with Mompiche. The owners of the hostel are so welcoming and friendly and will help you with anything. Highly recommend this place! Thankyou for everything :)

The mud house is probably the best hostel I ever stayed in. I loved mompiche and I wanna go back very badly. I had really bad sunburn and Nour and Yolanda called a doctor for me on a Sunday. I really enjoyed myself. Everyone took great care of me and the place is incredible. The beds are clean the kitchen too. The showers are cold but with the best water in town. And they are cold everywhere in mompiche. The beds are comfy. It’s an eco hostel which is nice. So you get like 20 liters of water. There’s a bar but it’s only open until 12 so it’s not loud in the night. There is a store and the beach and amazing surf. We met the best people, the volunteers and the visitors, owners, everyone very cool and chill. :))) loved it !

This hostel has it all!
- the dorms are spacious, every bed with a convenient locker and a mosquito net, the matress is comfortable
- bathroom with every dorm/room
- the common area is beautiful, inviting to relax, sleep, socialize, read, whatever you feel like
- the kitchen is well equipped and very clean!!
- the on site bar makes it easy to get to know people, however it is not so loud that it disturbes your sleep
- the staff and owners are lovely and very helpful
- only down side: you‘ll be very sad to leave……

I had an awesome stay here! Only a few minutes to the beach and even shorter to supermarkets, panadería, an ATM and fantastic food!
The bar is the place where people of the hostal and the village gather and enjoy cold beers, cocktails or just softdrinks. Otherwise the hostal also invites for a quiet day at the kitchen area or the hammocks. 😁
The room size is generous and it's cleaned every day. The owners are always happy and always happy to help.
You have basically all you need here. Not even having no hot water is a problem at this climate. Absolut recommendation in Mompiche!!

I arrived to Mudhouse thinking that I would only stay 2 days but it ended up being 10! The owner Andres was amazingly welcoming and went out of his way to make sure my stay was comfortable. He didn't need to though as I would have been happy anyway! The grounds of Mudhouse are beautiful, I've never stayed in a hostel with so much greenery and such a relaxed vibe. A new restaurant opened up on the grounds while I was there which was delicious (with vegan options!) but if you prefer to cook your own food, there's a lovely outdoor kitchen to use. The wonderful thing too is that you get all that while not being far from the Mompiche buzz.

Lovely hostel, lovely owners, lovely pets! All in all a lovely atmosphere. It’s a beautiful hostel surrounded with a lot of green. If you are lucky you can taste fruits which grow in the property and watch the birds eating bananas. The hostel is just around the corner of the local supermarket, restaurants and the beach! The cabañas are build in a ecological and traditional way what gives a nice touch with it and completes the perfect experience.

The place is simply amazing!
It feels good from the first moment.
Just 3 minutes from the beach there is also everything you need on site.
Everything is clean, there is a small kitchen and a chill-out deck to relax in a hamack and enjoy the evening in a calm environment.
The owner is very welcoming and gladly advises us on the right places in her little hand-made guidebook.
Totally recommend !

Really cool place
A few minus because it right next to the main road and Saturday the neighbor plays his music all day otherwise very nice place with a nice lounge where you can speak to each other without yelling and I’ve met the owners and they both are really cool and experienced traveller as well from Holland
I wasn’t fond so much of Mompiche it’s pretty small but worth a visit
If you like sleepy town this is the place

I loved the place. We had an amazing experience in Mompiche overall. Our hosts were really nice. The only thing that everyone should take into consideration is to bring some water. There isn't potable water, but that's not an issue at all. The place is really well built and it has a lot of green places to rest/chill.

Definitely something you should consider for your next vacation in Mompiche.

Absolutely stunning place. The bed was very comfy, kitchen and room super clean, the hostel itself is not in the middle of the village but just a bit further which is very relaxing. Mendee and Andres are always around to be sure you are happy. I am travelling alone in South America and it was one of the place I felt the most at home and safe. I recommend the MudHouse 1000% !

Amazing place to stay in Mompiche! Very close to town and the beach. Rooms had comfortable beds and lots of places to relax when not in the room. The kitchen is easy to use and always clean. 10/10 would recommend a stay at the Mudhouse!

Truly eco-friendly. Beautiful rooms surrounded by the sound of nature that allow for rest and online work with reliable internet. The shared areas are very inviting and the atmosphere quite friendly.

I was lucky enough to come across this gem during my time in South America and loved every moment of it! The owners clearly have a knack with details and made a wonderful peaceful paradise. Mompiche is a great place for surf or nature adventuring and the Mudhouse is a great place to call home for your time there!! Highly recommend this place, it is no doubt one of my favorite places I have stayed ever.

My stay here at the Mudhouse was so good! Mendee is super helpful and has all the information you need to make your time in Mompiche the best! The hostel itself is beautiful and really close to everything. The local shops are a minute walk away and the beach is literally 3 minutes which is great. The rooms are brill, lovely and airy and plenty of room for all your things. A well-equipped kitchen with everything you need too and the bar opens every evening to sell beers-- perfect!

My stay at The Mudhouse was super pleasant. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for two weeks during our trip through South America. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The beds in the dorm are one of the most comfortable I have encountered. They also have a well equiped kitchen for everyone to use and a cute spot to do some yoga.

We absolutely loved our time at the MudHouse! Clean accommodation and beautiful outdoor common area. We were met with generous hospitality from Mendee during our entire stay. Only a few minutes walk to the beach front. We highly recommend this hostel!

The place is ideal if you travel solo or in a group because you are guaranteed to meet some great people around in the common chill out and kitchen space.
Mompiche is a tranquil town and this hostel complements it perfectly. Loved it.
